The lecturers and people at the University are fantastic and I cannot speak highly enough of them. However, the moment you step on campus you are bombarded with their clear aim to ascend up the rankings table to fight with American and English universities. This pipe dream could not be further from the truth. Rules are in place because "that is the way it has always been done". Being a foreign student here is extremely difficult because I honestly don't think the university considers us when they make seemingly any decision. Incompetence throughout and no flexibility on the aforementioned inconceivably stupid rules is in stark contrast to the "agile and flexible organisation" we spent many painful hours in class learning about. I truly hope they fix these issues, and maybe reply to my emails within 30 days that would be nice. Do not think this is a world class University, rather it is an average University with world class people...

I remember when I was an unemployed graduate returning to university for some documents and getting mistreated by the Italian receptionist for not knowing how to use the automatic card to open the entrance door. I realised that being brown and not well dressed had something to do with it.
I found his behaviour to be appalling especially as Bocconi is a Business University and customer service is important. As you can see this matter has troubled me enough to write about it after years.
