Offside Sports Pub — Restaurant in Milan

We arrived in Milan on the day the first State of Origin was being played and after sending 25 emails and Facebook messages we were able to make contact with the owner of the Offside Sports Bar and he offered to open the bar for our group of six and televise (From England) the first State of Origin match. What a champion we had two staff members that made us feel like we were at home and the beers kept flowing all afternoon and so did the food. I recommend this bar to anyone anywhere in the world that is a sports fan and is on holidays in Milan and really want to watch a special game as these guys will accommodate you with everything that you need. They even let us order anything off the menu how wonderful of them. They have lots of different beers from all around the world and I’m sure we tried them all. As an American visiting Milan I have to say that Offsides was an awesome place to go hang out. I went in a total of three times to watch the world cup, and was happy every time. They offer a decent food selection that is tasty and decently sized for European standards. More importantly it was at a good price. Their beer selection was quite good and I made sure to try some of the local brews. What really stood out was the service. All of the staff were helpful and very friendly. Maurizio in particular was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable about the beer selection and recommended a good beer everytime I tried something new. Sitting at the bar I was able to hear him talk with all of the other guests who came up to order a drink, and he took his time to help each guest find a good beer they would enjoy. I have my fair share of public house experience, this one is fine. The male staff went completely out of their way to accommodate my needs, girl with the blue hair provided fantastic service and appears to genuinely enjoy being there. Other three female staff I met were fine. I only ordered one thing to eat, a chicken burger which was revolting and unfinished. Cold processed chicken unerves me.

The clientele are mostly other blokes and there is a peaceful relaxed feel to the place even when football matches are playing.

Subdued, laid back and mediocre I would say from the 3 visits I made.

Put a squad of 3 or 4 Northern Irish, English or Scottish in this bar, and they will take over and fill the atmosphere.
