Piccola Ischia Pizzeria (Via Cenisio) — Restaurant in Milan

🇬🇧I am an Italian living in London. When it was my last evening in Italy, I had a crave for a pizza with properly fried aubergines on it - Such a Sicilian staple!

I have sifted through delivery services such as Deliveroo and similar, I wanted the fried aubergines on a good pizza for a fair price, since I had really disappointing experiences from other pizzerias in Milan.

Piccola Ischia’s pizza met my expectations in terms of the fried aubergines, but I wasn’t expecting the excellence of the dough and tomato sauce too! Usually I skip eating the borders, but with their pizza I couldn’t resist!

The pizza was great and I really recommend the “Montanara” and generally the pizza is awesome. Although the manager was very unpleasant. He “made up” a fake reservation because we agreed for a take away (no places to seat) but asked for a seat if something will be available. Our timing was perfect because after 4 minutes one table freed up but, we could not seat there because it was “reserved” however the waiter told us that it is free before asking the manager. My Partner and I arrived from Melbourne and checked straight into our hotel and immediately felt like a pizza. Thankfully for us, this venue was within walking distance. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel like we were very welcome, and were treated to fabulous service and food.
