Dentro Le Mura — Restaurant in Molfetta

The experience at Dentro le Mura was overall average. The insalata di mare was good, but the spaghetti con vongole was far too greasy and heavy with oil — and I strongly doubt it was extra virgin olive oil. Unfortunately, our table was placed right close to the toilets. I can understand that fitting in an extra table means more customers and more revenue, but every time someone went to the bathroom, an unpleasant smell of urine reached our table. This is simply unacceptable, and that table should not exist.

Another issue is the air conditioning pipe that runs across the restaurant. Because of the temperature difference between the cold air from the AC and the warmer restaurant interior, condensation formed on the pipe. Drops of water fell to the floor, creating a serious slipping hazard. (I even saw some guests moving their chairs away because the dripping would go on their clothes). This is something that should be addressed immediately for safety reasons.

Finally, the waiting time for the dishes was quite long, which added to the overall disappointment.

In short: some average food, but let down by poor conditions and lack of attention to...

Great pizza - one of the best I’ve had in the region - but shame about the service.

We finished our pizza and drinks then got ignored for 30 minutes. The waiters kept looking at our empty table and walking by without offering a dessert or more drinks. It seemed that they were taking really good care of certain locals (at some points there were two waiters to a table), but they took no care of anyone else.

We wanted to have a dessert and more drinks, but got so fed up that we called over a waiter for the check and left. I saw other tables literally leaving money on the table and walking out as they’d also been ignored. Nobody seemed to care if we enjoyed our food, just pay on the way out. Odd for somewhere that looked over-staffed and had many empty tables.

In terms of value for money, this place is great, but it’s probably aimed at locals as opposed...

I highly do not recommend this place. When we're ordering the meat, the waiter asked me about the cooking time - I said well done. Later on he brought me the meat as you can see in the photo and it was literally rare blue. When I pointed out that the meat is rare, not well done, the waiter said that they serve it like that and that he can change it for us. After a while he brought me again the same meat (not politely I would say) and said that the cook has cooked it again for us. The meat was basically medium/ medium rare cooked. I spent quite a lot of money there and went our still hungry. The behavior of the waiter and the whole situation was horrendous and I would definitely never go back...
