Chioschetto San Marco — Restaurant in Molfetta

Two stars are for the gelato that is extremely good, one of the best I’ve ever had in Italy.

Unfortunately the service is below average - when choosing an ice cream cake, we took a bit longer as we had to choose the flavor and size for 12 people. One of the customers made a very rude comment towards us, as we took a bit longer to choose. This was followed by the server asking us to hurry up as there are other clients waiting. We are clients just as everyone else and we left them a good amount of money, I don’t think we deserved such treatment. There have been other instances in San Marco where we as customers have been treated rudely, but we have hoped that these were isolated instances. As this hasn’t been the case, then next time we might as well choose our gelato from a place that doesn’t ask us...

This place was recommended by a friend. So we planned to go, but because there are multiple ice cream stores, we asked the advice of locals.

All 3 agreed with our friend: this is the best ice cream in Molfetta.

It's crowded, and sometimes dangerous because of the heavy traffic.

And we have to admit: super delicious ice cream. And many tastes to choose from.

Ogni anno, puntualmente, per gustare un ottimo gelato, ho sempre prediletto il "Chiosco San Marco". Anche se vivo nella periferia di Modugno, una bella passeggiata nella splendida Molfetta é sempre piacevole. Purtroppo, a distanza di un anno, la situazione è cambiata... In tempo di covid, con gran dispiacere ho constatato che non vengono rispettate le distanze di sicurezza mentre si è in attesa del proprio turno. Chiunque senza mascherina e in veri e propri assembramenti. Il personale indossa la mascherina ma non i guanti, peraltro la cialda biscottata decorativa viene inserita nel gelato, con le stesse mani che hanno manipolato soldi! Chiedendo ad una signorina del personale, se avessero panna senza lattosio, lei mi ha risposto: questa panna é metá e metá!... O c'è lattosio o non c'é! Variegato all'amarena gradevole, gusto caffé completamente scialbo e insapore... Credo che gli albori della loro eccellenza stiano decadendo e lo dico con immenso...
