Malie — Restaurant in Molfetta

We were staying nearby and wanted to find out the opening hours of the restaurant. We approached one of the staff members to ask when the restaurant is open. He wasn’t able to give us an answer—probably because he didn’t fully understand English—but that wasn’t a problem for us. He was polite and tried to help.

The problem started when another man, large and heavyset (we assume he was the manager or someone in charge), came over. We asked him whether he spoke English and if he could tell us the restaurant’s opening days and hours. He replied in Italian, saying that in Italy, we should speak Italian to people because “this is not America.” It didn’t matter to him that we weren’t American.

After that kind of interaction, honestly, it completely killed any desire to visit this place. I do not...

It is amazing restaurant, the Best in this beautiful Molfetta city! So amazing, tasty, and not obvious flavours! So great way of serving... great and helpful waiter ( I guess owner).
