From the food to the setting to the service, Trattoria La Moltrasina is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. My family and I enjoyed this restaurant so much we decided to go two days in a row. The restaurant does not serve pizzas on Tuesdays, so the first night we had some of their delicious pasta. We ordered the tagliatella and maccheroncini, and we all agree they were the best pastas to have blessed our palettes. The marriage of flavors and textures was amazing. The second night we ordered two pizzas, and they, too, were nothing short of incredible. Finally, for desert on the second night, we ordered the tiramisu ball, and I encourage everyone to do the same because that thing was to die for.
Beyond the food itself, the staff is tremendously charming. We chatted with one of the waitresses, Yasmin, and one of the chefs, Pietro, for substantial lengths of time. They were eager to entertain a conversation with us, sharing their backstories and how they came to find themselves at the restaurant. We had a great time exchanging words, and the experience made my family and I feel extremely welcome.
In terms of atmosphere, the restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating arrangements that are equally pleasant and accommodating. When the weather is nice, there’s nothing more peaceful than sitting out in their little garden/courtyard with some wine in your hand and bread in your mouth. Overall, this was a fantastic experience!
A fair warning, the waiters/waitresses are not afraid to tell you no if something is no longer available. Everything is made with fresh ingredients, so there may be occasions in which the kitchen runs out of something. The first night, for example, we were told there were no pizzas, and the ravioli and tiramisu were also unavailable. I have nothing but respect for that kind of practice, but I know that might turn some people off so I thought it...
Read moreThe best restaurant in Moltrasio if not in Como without a doubt! The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Each dish was a true delight. A real hidden gem on Lake Como.
What I particularly loved about this place was the interior design. The classic ambiance adorned with vintage writings, adding a unique character to this historic building. It's a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
The food at this restaurant is fresh and truly authentic. Every dish we tried was simply incredible, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. The waiters were attentive, offering excellent recommendations for both food and wine. And the best part? The prices were surprisingly reasonable for such a remarkable experience. I cannot stress enough how highly I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Lake Como. You won't be...
Read moreThe atmosphere at La Moltrasina is pretty relaxing. Wonderful either on your own, with friends or family. Food is so nice! I’m always curious to see what there might be the next time I go, since the menu changes from time to time. Last time I went, few days ago, I had a pizza. I think it’s one of my first times ever I end eating an entire pizza! The place itself has been practically wholly renovated inside and what I deeply appreciate, is mainly the preservation of its original charm. If you’re sensitive to colour, well, there you go with a delicate pastel sage green in one room and a sparkling greenish yellow which results being even calming when you look at it, in the main room at the entrance. In winter the chimney, in summer a lovely garden. Friendly vibe. I can definitely...
