I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I'm afraid this place deserves it. Looks very nice from the outside but their organisation is a disaster. They seem to collect orders, then prepare all the starters before beginning on anybody's main course even if you're not having a starter. We ordered at 7:30, and at 8:20 we asked how long it would be. The proprietress was very rude and said 5-10 mins. At 8:45 we asked a waitress again and were told that because we hadn't ordered pizza it would take longer. At 9 we got up to leave, and were told it was just coming. 2 meals arrived but the third took another 10 minutes. The spaghetti carbonara was very disappointing: very oily and with no real evidence of a carbonara sauce. The papardelle boscuolo that arrived last was actually quite good but by then all we wanted to do was leave. We were given €20 off a €50 bill, but no apology, and it really didn't make up for the...
Read moreSimply the best traditional local quisine! This small osteria is a must do when visiting Montecatini terme. La nonna (+90y!!!) and her daughter cook and serve the most delicious and pure dishes straight from the open kitchen with the most possible passion and only fresh ingredients. Watch the tagliere salumi, pizza, and fresh pasta being prepared straight from the counter on to your plate, meanwhile the wood fire is heating the oven. We went 3 nights for dinner and would have done more if possible, so did other customers. Fresh food prepared à la minute takes time of course but order a bottle of wine and enjoy the evening in this great atmosphere. Price/quality level is off the chart. It’s recommended to make a reservation cause there’s only room for +- 14 people. Buon appetito, you...
Read moreAmazing place, we visited twice in our week in Montecatini, and recommended it to others. The food was simply delicious, and we were made to feel like part of the family. A comfortable, relaxed, welcoming, delicious place to eat. This is not a place to be rushed, enjoy the wine, the atmosphere and take your time. The ravioli with meat ragu was divine, as was the fillet steak, tender, juicy and tasty. The homemade deserts were exceptional, creme brulee and Nonna's cake both were perfect. This place is an absolute gem and the two beautiful ladies who run it should be very, very proud. Book a table, this restaurant is only small and understandably fills up quickly...
