The best restaurant in Costa Rei, by far. The only restaurant where the food is properly seasoned: salt plus flavours! Ate there 3 times: the horse steak came with a hint of garlic, the beef steak, although very simply flavoured, it was salted perfectly and the bitterness of the grill flavour was perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the beef. The steakes have no side dish- I recommend choosing a simple green salad with salt and olive oil - is the perfect pairing. Had the roasted fish 2 times, each time it was a different fish and differently flavoured , and very tasty each time. My husband had 2 different pizzas, both good, but not sensational. Concerning the service, it was always good-the young server is great- verry attentive and nice. We got the dishes at 1-2 minutes difference, but we were a table of 2. I saw other tables with larger parties where some finished eating while the others didn't even get the food yet. The only dislike is that the owners always look very serious, stressed... a smile would go a long way. 1st visit: The best meal so far, in Costa Rei. We had the horse steak- very well seasoned, with a hint of garlic, cooked to perfection, but too rare for my taste- I asked them to cook it a little more, which they did and it was even better! My husband had the grilled fish which was also perfect: flavourfull, crispy on the outside and nice and flaky and moist on the inside with oven roasted potatoes with a light note of rosemary. Absolutely delicious. The service was also great - servers were welcoming, paid attention to us, brough everything needed to the table, including seasonigs. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the atmosphere is because it's near the road and a parking lot, but otherwise is...
Read moreWhat a horrible service! The restaurant is located 2 min away from the beach. We spontaneously went there for dinner with my husband and 2 daughters at 19:00 when there were no other customers yet. I went to the restroom with my daughters so they could change swimsuits to clothes. There were 3 ladies at the bar giving me a look as if I was an intruder, not a customer. As they could hear before that my daughters didn’t speak Italian between each other and I didn’t speak Italian to them, they assumed I don’t understand Italian and one of them said: “Ma questa qua va a fare la doccia qui?!” (“But is this one going to take a shower here?!”) and then SHE FOLLOWED ME TO THE BATHROOM and said, still in Italian: “Occhio qui!” (“Careful here!”) pointing the sinks, intending that I will make them dirty. Well, it happens that I understand Italian, but even if I didn’t, this was clear enough to make me feel not welcomed. Very impolite and unprofessional behavior. High level service would welcome me with a smile, note that I am going to the restroom with some slightly sandy kids and discretely clean up after I leave the bathroom (which was unnecessary because we left the bathroom clean). The food was ok and the rest of the staff, all the waiters, were polite. But these weird ladies are killing the vibe and you can tell that it has an impact on the rest of the staff and overall experience. Such a pity because the location is great. I hope someone else takes over the business because the place has a great potential but the management...
Read moreTerrible experience. We were first told we couldn’t have dinner outside even though tables were set and 18 degrees. Service was terribly rude and condescending , we did not feel welcome at all. Being from the restaurant industry we know how important it is to be friendly and welcoming. It did not say on the menu that the pasta was raw, it did not say either that the fish was bathed in salt before being salted again. Either way we insisted on being friendly and smiling at the staff who looked like they were attending a funeral and looked at us like we had murdered whoever they were burying. The only friendly one was a tall boy with glasses who brought us the wine, hoping he becomes manager one day to teach these people how to work in...
