Case that could have been reported to the police. Family holiday from England was ruined in the worst possible way. Stopped in Costa Rei for one day to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, we went on a boat and water activities. For dinner we chose this location for the open terrace. The table for 10 people was booked couple hours before and we agreed to bring the birthday cake which was ordered from local pasticceria. Arrived in at 19:50 and first 40 minutes we had only drinks at our table, understanding the high volume of people maybe they missed us with fresh bred and olive oil offered from the house for all table around. 20:50 all tables around was fully served one member off stuff explained because we ordered two portions of porcudu, (typical Sardinian pig) it took longer to bring all orders at the same time. I asked not to worry about and bring what they have ready because of 4 hungry children. The first plate arrived at 21:00 after 1h 10min and it was the pig … after 10 min arrived another two plates they asked if we have everything. I said we don’t have actually nothing apart few servers. And this is not acceptable. The waitress started shouting back saying that we need to have more patience and respect because they are very busy. Excuse us, how we can be more patients and respectful if the people around us were having deserts and our kids had only a piece of bread(that I had to ask for). When the order for my birthday daughter was ready the plate was actually thrown on the table. At this point we had enough and asked for bill and decided to leave. The shameless waitress had a courage to say we can’t leave because we ordered more stuff. I asked to speak to the manager and all the way from terrace table up to the manager desk this waitress was screaming at me in front of all clients. The manager was more understanding and apologised to say mistakes happen and didn’t charge us. Even that it’s not worth it my daughter’s tears, ruined party and shocked...
Read moreThis restaurant showed promise despite being made to feel like they were squeezing us in whilst having many available tables. Menu looked amazing. I ordered pasta which was basic but nice, my husband ordered beef rib, wasn't asked how he wanted it cooked and it was very tough and in parts inedible (believe me very little is inedible for my husband) add to that the potatoes that never arrived (this was deducted from the bill at our request), the rude staff dumping a plate down without taking a breath or pause to notice (or hear us asking for) the missing cutlery. Another member of staff then brought a dinner knife to eat said tough steak, that was never going to work. Sadly the steak knife that was brought by the most competent member of staff there didn't help very much. Our food was also brought separately, if I'd waited for my husband's meal to arrive before starting it would have been cold. No one asked if our food was ok or if we wanted more drinks until after we'd been up to...
Read moreAlthough the place was packed with tourists (as anywhere else in Sardinia in mid-August), and we had no reservation, the staff took great effort in finding a table for us and being mega accommodating and nice.
The food was delicious, the waitress suggested us to skip first meals as it would have taken too long so we went directly to the seconds (fritto misto, fritto di calamari e totani, tonno con burrata e pomodorini and grigliata mista). Everything extremely delicious!
We came back on the following night to try also the first meals. The treatment was just as nice as the day before!
Finally a place in Sardinia that shows adequate number of staff to comply with customer demand, well trained and skilled in dealing with customer requests, and capable of handling difficult situations (screaming children everywhere, dogs running away, rude customers etc) in a very professional way.
An example to be followed by other restaurants, not only...
