Ristorante Bar Pizzeria Il Vecchio Porto Alta Marea — Restaurant in Olbia

I don’t know if it’s because we aren’t locals but it was the worst restaurant experience ever! We were totally mistreated. First time we tried to go we waited in line and a young host/drinks server said the wait is about five minutes while he cleared a table. Ok. But then when he left to clean, another full time server asked us how many (in Italian) and we said two please (myself in Italian but my husband in English). Immediately his face turned and he told us unless we had a reservation we had to wait 40 minutes. Others walked by and viewed the menu outside then went in and immediately got a table. Did they have a reservation? 🤔

Our fault, we gave them another chance another day but earlier in the evening when not busy. The same young host/drinks server sat us but the same full time server from the other night spoke to him abruptly as we walked to the table. That same guy ended up being our server. 😩 We ordered wine (barely got any wine in the glass) and our food (which was very uncomfortable because it looked like we were bothering the server even though we didn’t ask any questions and knew what we wanted.) My husband got all his dishes at once after about 20 minutes. I received nothing. Other tables seated later got all their food together. We waited about 25 minutes (as the server kept going by saying nothing) then when my husband was done eating everything after I told him to stop waiting for mine, I tried to flag the server down SEVERAL times. Most times he ignored me. A FEW times he made eye contact and held up his hand like hold on and went to help others including new people coming into the restaurant. Several minutes later he directs another server (who we hadn’t met ) to come to the table. We told him we wanted the bill and my dish that I never got removed. After several minutes of arguing that we don’t want it as a take away they took it off the bill. They said some dishes take longer than others. Pasta is pasta but ok. And for me a plane croissant and also two latte macchiato and a mineral water, please." "Do you want sparkling water or non sparkling?" Lady (older) who seemed to be in charge of taking orders seemed to have a 'resting b*h face' was rude, should be in the army. Today (22.8.19) Wouldn't let us sit in restaurant at 5.40pm as 'it was being cleaned', told us we could only sit outside with the rest of the flies, bees, & wasps around us. We were ready to order, asked her to come over, but obviously laying the tables was more important to her than the paying customers. Fried calamari was flavourless, pizza was OK, could've been better (tasted better at Italian restaurant in Richmond, cooked by a chef from Naples). Knocked over beer by accident & she looked at us like a mother scolding her child... Like wth! Overall experience not so good, steer...
