Il Portico Restaurant B&B — Restaurant in Orgòsolo/Orgosolo

DON'T GO even if you are starving, this is the last place on earth to eat!!!

We were in Orgosolo and we found this restaurant on the local guide, we saw the excellence certificates on display and we thought it was a good choice. The biggest mistake ever. I ordered a seafood salad. At first sight it seemed okay, but when I looked closer, I noticed that mussels were DIRTY, with sand and mud, definitely not edible. The octopus was hard to chew. The most horrifying part of the story was the second plate. I ordered 'orecchiette con gamberi porcini' - pasta with mushrooms and shrimps. So, just the smell of the plate invited me to vomit, but I tasted it anyway. NO WORDS could describe how disgusted I was. Shrimps seemed like rejects/waste of days before, only the heads (you can't eat them) and they had a horrible colour. We sent the plate back, they asked us if we want something else, but actually my hunger was over after what I saw there, so I didn't order further.

We stumbled upon Il Portico by chance, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. The owner kindly showed us to our room, which boasted a stunning view of the city and mountains. The room was spacious, clean, and the bathroom had everything we needed. There is a panoramic terrace at the top, offering amazing views!

The price was very fair, especially considering that breakfast was included. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of options including coffee, milk, and tea. We also dined at the restaurant for dinner, and the food was truly tasty and of high quality. The service was excellent and professional.

We highly recommend Il Portico to anyone...

Sul mangiare nulla da dire. Semplicemente perché non ci hanno fatto mangiare.... Mi spiego: Stamattina ero in visita a Nuoro con amici australiani; mi chiedono di visitare Orgosolo e mangiare qualcosa di tipico. Al museo etnografico di Nuoro, casualmente conosciamo una guida originaria di Orgosolo la quale senza indugio ci indica questo ristorante. Alchè, verso le 12 mia moglie chiama il ristorante per prenotare... una ragazza al telefono ci dice che non c’è alcun bisogno di prenotare (Non dice che non accettano prenotazioni) perché tanto i posti ci sono.. le diciamo che stiamo visitando un museo a Nuoro e che saremo arrivati in ristorante non prima delle 13.30... niente, la ragazza al telefono ribadisce che non c’è alcun bisogno di prenotare e di andare da loro tranquillamente... Bene, diciamo: “andiamo lì a pranzo e non prenotiamo da nessun’altra parte!” Alle 13.40 giungiamo in ristorante... entriamo, salutiamo e attendiamo... poco dopo una pseudo cameriera passa davanti a noi, ci guarda e ci dice senza ne salutare ne fermarsi: “guardate che siamo al completo e non ci sono posti”. E se se ne va... (magari una persona può entrare in ristorante anche per una info o chiedere qualcos’altro, vabbè). Dopo qualche secondo di riflessione su quanto detto, le vado incontro e le dico: “Mi scusi, abbiamo chiamato verso le 12 per prenotare e ci avete detto che non c’era bisogno, e ora mi dice che non c’è posto?” Mi risponde andando via:” eh, i clienti sono arrivati tutti insieme e non ci possiamo fare nulla” Come siamo arrivati, siamo andati via, salutando... Ora dico... capisco che la professionalità, tu, pseudo cameriera, non sai nemmeno cosa sia, ma con la maleducazione ci vai proprio di pari passo. Niente buongiorno, niente scusate, niente arrivederci....
