Gipas 111 — Restaurant in Ostuni

I went to Gipas 111 with my beautiful wife, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable evenings of our trip. The location is simply magical, right outside the Cathedral in Ostuni’s old city, where the atmosphere blends seamlessly with the historic surroundings.

We enjoyed a refreshing prosecco and a rich red wine, both excellent choices, and were impressed by the attentive and friendly service that made us feel truly welcome. The music was spot on—great taste and a crystal-clear sound system that fills the space without ever being too loud. So the place is beautiful and the setting is stunning, however the piña colada we had was very bland (no taste whatsoever) and the whole experience was marred by two of our party being sent away when asking to use the bathroom (they probably thought we just wanted to use it without being customers, while instead we had just sat down outside.... the suspicion is that one of us being darker-skinned didn't help unfortunately). They did apologise profusely afterwards and I hope it was just a misunderstanding, but next time they should be a bit more careful - I am a regular in Ostuni and nothing of the kind ever happened to me, yet it happened twice when I was in the company of someone whose skin...

Alcoholic drinks for 10-20€. Amazing atmosphere + design + music (that‘s what you‘re paying for obviously). However I didn‘t like the Gipas 111 cocktail. The strawberry (and orange on the other cocktail) tasted like nothing - not ripe, not sweet, like bought in your average discounter.
