La Cantinina - Ristorante trattoria — Restaurant in Ostuni

Sadly, we had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Our overpriced 4€ grilled vegetables consisted of five slices of eggplant and five slices of zucchini, they were served completely cold and had no salt, olive oil, or anything; the eggplant was bitter. The arosto misto had two pieces of sausage that tasted sour, like the meat had spoiled. The house wine tasted like funky grape juice and was served without wine glasses. We left the carafe of wine on the table, and I really hate wasting food.

It seems like it wasn’t just us tonight either. One of the tables behind us returned a plate that had shrimp on it, the waitress picked it up and smelled it and the diners seemed really displeased.

Unfortunately after we left, we kept wondering why it was 50€ when we only ordered one side dish, one primi and one secondo plus the 7€ house wine and realized too late we had been overcharged.

We left with a sour taste in our mouth and we hope food poisoning does not follow from the sausage.

Arrivati con molte aspettative viste le recensioni… arriviamo e già capiamo che c’era qualcosa che non andava. La cameriera che ci fa accomodare subito comincia a inveire contro il proprietario, non si trovavano le comando degli altri tavoli, inveiva contro i colleghi davanti a noi. Di un’antipatia e sgarbatezza incredibile. Arriva l’antipasto (20euro in due), polpette di carne e di pesce, una piccolissima porzione di riso con gamberetti e pezzo forte UNO spiedino con zucchine già tagliate congelate e gamberetti. C’erano anche due pezzettini di frittata e due pezzettini di torta di patate. Passando alle portate principali, ho preso dal menu “fave e contorni”. Pure di fave insapore e friggitelli buoni. Abbiamo preso anche una scottona da 500 gr (30€) non tenerissima, tanto da lasciarla nel piatto.. Il proprietario sembra davvero succube della cameriera che urla e si arrabbia con lui e gli altri camerieri davanti ai commensali. COSA INACCETTABILE. Abbiamo passato la serata a dispiacerci per come trattava i colleghi ma soprattutto il proprietario che sembrava inerme davanti alla maleducazione di lei. Il posto è molto carino quindi potrebbe fare molto molto molto molto di più. Posto tanto turistico, quindi adatto a chi non conosce la cucina italiano purtroppo. Nota per il proprietario: cambiando la cameriera e cercando di fare un menu più di nicchia sicuramente avrete molto più successo! Recommend this place! It’s a short walk out of town (up a hill so you feel you deserve the delicious food ;-)) and away from the busy centre. We had two Orrechiette dishes which were delicious.
