Ristorante Donna Nina — Restaurant in Pachino

This restaurant looked so good in reviews and pictures, and it's location is excellent - right in the super picturesque main square of Marzamemi which is the what originally drew us to it. However, food was subpar at best - nothing special for the price, small portions and lack of variety that would not cater to different tastes. Waiters would forget what you've ordered and you would then have to order again to someone else, and our main server was quite rude even. We wanted to get a bottle of wine and asked for recommendation for what we got an irritated look, and ended up ordering some random wine. Vastly different experience to restaurants we have been to in Taormina, Noto, Modica, etc., where people have been accommodating...

This restaurant is really well located on a beautiful plaza in Marzamemi. The food is also really good, and with a short menu which is a sign of freshness. Unfortunately the service is really bad, I saw multiples tables with missing plates, taking 15-20 min to arrive and for the record they don't have parmigiano for the pasta... also you won't be able to get tap water and their prices are pretty expensive (16 € for pasta in average, 6€ for a glass of wine). So to summarize, it's a really touristic place which is probably why you have expensive prices and poor service. But the pasta are really good and the sea...

Locale affascinante situato nella incantevole (e affollatissima) piazzetta di Marzamemi. Le foto dei social purtroppo ingannano: è tutto bello quando c'è la luce giusta, poca gente, l'atmosfera romantica...poi invece ti accorgi che ad agosto Marzamemi è un formicaio, peraltro molto (ma molto molto) sporco. Il ristorante Donna Nina è piccolo e ha il pregio di distinguersi dagli altri locali perché i prezzi sconsigliano alla massa di sedersi, ci sta. Peccato che a costi decisamente sopra la media (vedere il menu, se ci riesce, dato che la luce sul ns. tavolo era data da una sola candela 🕯) corrisponda un servizio lento lento e assolutamente da rivedere. Il poco personale (due soli camerieri) è gentile e competente ma, per dirne una, i piatti sono in gran parte sbeccati e i bicchieri lavati male (quelli del vino anche spaiati, ma vabbè). Il cibo però è il pezzo forte del locale, si mangia decisamente bene. Il tonno marinato sebbene servito con una porzione da ristorante gourmet (cioè scarsa) è di qualità eccellente, idem la burrata con il pomodoro. Eccezionali a mio vedere i fusilloni con pomodoro e melanzane. Anche il cannolo rivisitato (servito scomposto su richiesta) merita assai. Non abbiamo trovato invece scelta di carne e birre, come invece l'insegna lasciava presagire. Nel complesso esperienza un po' così così, la sensazione è quella del locale dalla molta apparenza, tipo locale di Milano Marittima (alarm spoiler: sono di Cervia), pretenzioso se vogliamo, con pietanze di ottima qualità, ma con un occhio troppo spinto a far cassa a tutti i costi sulle spalle dei...
