I told them I needed the bathroom, but wanted my coffee to be hot. I came out of the bathroom to coffee(espresso) waiting for me. They were rude from the start. I am aware that I should speak more Italian than I do. But, I don't. However, eventually they switched to fully functional English when they wanted me to pay for a cold espresso that sat while I went to the bathroom. I refused the coffee after their response to me repeating that I wanted a hot coffee, was, you can pay for 2 coffees. There happened to be an under cover cop very close.
