Ichiban Ramen Padova — Restaurant in Padua

Firstly, the ambiance is very nice. Manga/anime themed, which may be a bit tacky, but it's tampered by the sake barrels and somehow works well.

The menu is tiny. There's two ramen broths, one veggie option. One donburi. Half the stuff in the menu is featuring the chashu (pork belly) as its main ingredient, which ok but come on do you only have pork? The ramen I had was actually quite good, a large portion with loads (maybe even slightly too many) of noodles.

But I also had some sides, and those weren't great. The best I've had was by far the gyoza, which were tasty. Too bad they were steamed instead of pan fried, but the taste was there. Ok stuff. The chashu bun was also okay-ish, but the bun itself wasn't great. Pork is pork and hard to make badly. This brings us to the nikuman, which I think was the first time in my life I haven't finished eating a bun because it wasn't good. It tasted sour, the bun itself having a cardboardy taste. The filling wasn't sour but wasn't very flavourful either.

Price was overall good, cheaper than the alternative in the city centre (Maramen), and reasonable. But I don't think overall I'll be going back, unless I only want a bowl of ramen on the cheap. If I wanted sides of a dessert, I'd...

Verso aprile andai in questo ristorante accompagnata da una mia amica, per gustarci il ramen di Ichiban, molto consigliato da alcune persone.

Cosa posso dire del locale? Beh, il locale parlando dell'estetica era veramente molto bello, con dettagli giapponesi e soprattutto, consigliato per gli amanti degli Anime essendo che il locale è ispirato ad essi. Stelle: 4/5

Cibo: Non ho nulla da dire riguardo al ramen, ricordo che era molto saporito, l'unica pecca forse era la carne di maiale, che rispetto ad altri ramen che ho mangiato non era gustoso. Ma del resto era buono. 4-/5

Il personale: Arriviamo a questa pecca, una grande pecca. Perché il locale non mi è rimasto impresso? Semplice, il personale era scortese. L'atmosfera che si era creata non mi piaceva affatto.

Cos'è successo? (Facoltativo da leggere) Quel giorno, con questa mia amica, siamo entrate nel locale, salutando il ragazzo alla porta, che ci aveva accolto con un saluto per poi subito dopo dirci che dovevamo scannarizzare il QR . Non avevamo capito molto cosa, quindi eravamo conventrate a capire cosa dovessimo fare. Nel mentre, era arrivata una ragazza, dicendoci inizialmente "buongiorno", non credevamo che fosse riferito a noi, in più stavamo cercando di scannarizzare il QR. Essendo che non abbiamo risposto per un malinteso, questa ragazza in modo sgarbato ci ha di nuovo detto con un tono alto un pò scazzato "buongiorno". In sè era molto fredda, tanto. Subito dopo è arrivato il ragazzo, dicendoci che potevamo sederci dove volevamo. Inizialmente ci siamo sedute in un tavolo, ma l'abbiamo lasciato dopo neanche un minuto perché era troppo piccolo. Cambiando tavolo, 5m dopo arrivò di nuovo la ragazza dicendo:-"per caso avete cambiato tavolo?" E io gli faccio:-"si, era troppo piccolo" Lei tutta scazzata ci disse che non si doveva fare questo gesto e che dovevamo avvisare, sinceramente non trovo il motivo per cui sgridarci, un conto è se avevamo ordinato, ma noi ci siamo sedute due secondi, non toccando nemmeno le posate.

Ultima cosa, essendo che stavamo mangiando il ramen in due, si era sporcata la tovaglietta sotto il piatto. Essendo che volevo cambiarla, sia perché era sporca e sia perché volevo portarla a casa essendo che era molto carina. Avevo chiesto se gentilmente poteva portarmi un'altra tovaglietta. La risposta? Dovevo pagare 2€ per averla. Scusatemi, da quando in qua si paga la tovaglietta? Se un cliente chiede di cambiarla perché è sporca, bisognerebbe ascoltarlo.

In più, sembrava quasi che ci stessero incollati per vedere che cosa dicevamo del locale e del personale. Insomma, L'atmosfera non era piacevole, anche perché siamo state molto gentili con loro, e ritrovarci questo comportamento è stato brutto, per me che non sono di zona e volevo semplicemente godermi il ramen.

L'atmosfera fa la differenza, mi dispiace che sia successo...

Decent if you're in the area. The Ichiban Ramen and Donburi were good. Pricing was okay. That's about it.

The decor was charming, but it was stuffy with no ventillation or air circulation at all. I was sweating before I even got the hot soup. I held on to a menu to fan myself while I sat there.

Service was bare bones and a little slow for being one of three tables. Also, after being seated at a corner table, another party was seated right next to us instead of giving us some separation. Finished my main meal well before any sides came out.
