Il desco — Restaurant in Padua

It was a joy from beginning to end. We came for a late lunch. The room was full but the noise was soft. Waiter guided us through the choices, from a la carte, set and tasting, wine lists or pairing. He never pushed nor upsold.

The food was both beautiful to look at but also gave us an experience. Interesting combination of flavors and food combinations.

Wine list both a wide selection. We opted for local and regional.

Yes, we would come back. It really helps to come dressed up a bit (a nice collar shirt for men and a summery wear for women). You will feel that it's an occasion even though it was, like us, a grand...

Terrible food, I found hair in the plate... We ordered a crisp egg which was described in the menu to come with a melting yoke, aspargus and truffles... The yoke was hard, the aspargus were canned and the truffles were tasteless... I was considering sending it back to the kitchen just for the poor taste when I found a curly hair in the plate. The other dish was suposed to be pasta with duck ragu... It came with gounded tasteless meat that could be any animal... Don't waist your time, or your money in this...

Abbiamo pranzato ai tavolini del bar dove offrivano toast, panini e insalatona (misticanza pomodorini, tonno e mozzarella. Abbiamo ordinato un toast e l'insalatona. Quando ho chiesto se insieme all'insalata pitevlsdi avere un pezzo di pane, la dipendente mi ha detto che non era previsto. Insalatona senza pane è la prima volta che mi capita. E non mi ispira. Ho allora optato anche io per il toast ma la dipendente mi ha detto che ormai l'insalatona era ordinata e non potevo cambiare. Infatti mi è stata portata dopo un secondo, ovviamente già impostata dalla mattina, quindi non certo preparata apposta per me. Ho allora chiesto al proprietario se potessi avere un pezzo di pane e mi ha detto che avrei dovuto pagarlo a parte 3 euro. Non ci potevo credere. Me ne sarei andata pagando senza mangiare, ma non volevo fare una discussione con persone così poco argute (per usare un eufemismo). Cosa gli sarebbe costato un tocco di pane? Ora il minimo che possa fare è sconsigliare questo locale dove, tra l'altro, mozzarelle e olive sono di quelle plastificate e insapori. Non ho avuto il dispiacere di assaggiare altro, ma anche il toast pallido e vuoto ai lati non era affatto...
