L'Angolo Gastronomico — Restaurant in Palermo

If you want to experience authentic Sicilian cuisine, this is the place to go to. At the end of August, I spent a week in Palermo and ate here every day for lunch throughout my stay. This small restaurant is run by a genuine Sicilian senior lady and her son. During my visits there, I was not only able to enjoy the delicious food, but also able to have long chats with the very friendly and warm owners of the restaurant – even though I don't speak Italian, as I come from Germany (we communicated using the audio translation function of Google Translate on my smartphone). The Messicano sandwich (2.50€) was an absolute masterpiece – the spicy salami piccante, savory bacon, and touch of Tabasco created an unforgettable flavor combination that left me savoring every bite. The owner, despite our language barrier, was incredibly warm and took the time to explain each ingredient with such enthusiasm. Her passion for her food truly shone through, making the experience all the more special. I’ll definitely be back to try more of her creations – if the Messicano is just the start, I can’t wait to see what other delights...
