Trattoria La Scarpetta — Restaurant in Pasada/Posada

During our trip to Sardinia, when in Budoni, we were looking for a local restaurant with homemade food. After reading the reviews of this one, we were more than convinced to give it a try, but both on the phone call and on the restaurant we were not welcome. We were told that it was impossible to book a table for 4 people, because they only booked tables for 2. Being 2 couples, we tried to book two tables of 2 separately, but the lady on the phone told us it was not possible. We thought it was a communication error over the phone (since we do not speak Italian), and tried to go to the restaurant any away and explain our situation. They refused to receive us, even when we asked for a table for the next day or another day of that week. Sadly, we think it had to do with us being foreigners. It was a pity. But because of that, we ended up discovering a really great, local, and friendly restaurant, Pizzeria da Danielle, where we were super well received and where the food was...

This is just a great place for dinner. They specialise in Sardinian dishes all prepared with local fresh ingredients. And you can taste it. Everything is full of flavour and love. They have just a handful of tables so you can be sure the owners will take very good care of you, will explain the menu and stop for a chat when they have time. We have been coming here for a few years and make sure we visit this trattoria at least once during our stay. And every time we leave wanting to come back. We had 2 dinners there and both times the food was just great. We had: a platter of cheese, gnochetti, ravioli, sausage in tomato sauce, pork, dessert and wine. For the sausage with tomatoes, it really impressed me how the onions and tomatoes were cooked, because the onions were still a bit crunchy, but not acidic at all. Same for the tomatoes.
