This place doesn‘t keep its promises. Beautiful architecture suggests impeccable service and food. We had a 200 Euro cheque so didn‘t just come for a coffee. I had one of the giant steaks together with my wife. But the more we ordered the more absent-minded the waiter became. Yes, I ordered two identical ice cream desserts for my TWO daughters. ONE ice cream arrived. Never mind, my six-year old is just a Type I diabetic and can handle the Insulin overdose. You had to ask twice for everything, even straws for the Kids. The second bottle of water never arrived either, but as is customary with these restaurants the bottle didn‘t fail to turn up on the cheque of course. What a classic. For the wine I usually ask for the waiter‘s suggestion but this „amphora“ pinot grigio tasted only of sour plonk and nothing else. Why an oh-so-fancy place like this even carries a wine like that is beyond me. I only wanted to get out of here, felt sorry for my wife because she picked this place and had to deal with my bad temper afterwards. Got the impression that ordering in English was...
Read moreThe only good thing about 7 Ponti is the atmosphere — the place looks nice and has a decent vibe if you’re just grabbing a drink. But everything else was honestly a mess. The food was absolutely dreadful. The burger was gross, dry, and borderline inedible. It felt like no effort went into it at all.
Service wasn’t any better. We ordered a glass of wine FOUR times — literally had to remind them over and over — and it still took more than 20 minutes just to get it. Completely unacceptable, especially since the place wasn’t even that busy.
Bottom line: don’t come here expecting good food or decent service. Stop by for a cocktail if you must, but eat somewhere else. I left frustrated and seriously...
Read moreI can only praise this place - visually stunning premises , even the toilet taps were stylish , and the artwork by a local artist ( by the entrance to the bathrooms ) were incredible! The food was an incredible surprise! As a Swede , I know what fresh cod should taste like , and having lived in the UK for decades , I've had fish and chips many times. But the deep fried cod pieces and fries ( coeliac friendly, perfect for me and my daughter who are gluten intolerant) ...it was the best fish and chips I've had in my life! The fish tasted amazing, the batter was light and crunchy , and the fries were equally delicious. Wish there was a branch in London , so that we could eat that same...
