Caffè Centrale — Restaurant in Peschiera del Garda

Stopped here for lunch while exploring the town on our first day in the area.

The restaurant is nicely laid out and looks inviting. We were also glad of the shades pulled over to give some rest-bite from the sun.

Food here is pretty decent in both value and quality, some dishes better than others. The mixed fish platter was very nice and well cooked with a nice and varied selection. The pizzas were good and the pasta dish was nicely cooked and full of flavour.

The only thing that lets this place down is the speed of service and the (lack of) welcome from the staff. When we were there it was approximately half full, but the service takes an age. We saw two other tables get up and leave after waiting 10+ minutes to get their drinks order taken. The staff seem to work when they feel like doing a bit, as opposed to when the patrons want/need something.

I'd say from our week long time in the area, there's nothing wrong with going here, and if you're not in a rush, its not a bad choice, but there are other nice places close by that will be a little more welcoming and prompt with...

I recently had the misfortune of eating at this restaurant.It looks nice and we sat on the canal which was nice. We had 3 children with us so ordered and asked the children food with the starter-1hr 30mins later we still hadn't had any food! when we asked the waiter he appeared concerned and said he would sort it out, we reiterated that we wanted the children fed asap as they were tired. This was ignored. A mixture of starters and mains came eventually but no children's food. One of which was now asleep!!some of the food never came and the mussels I had were disgusting and several were not open.I left 98% of them and still they upset me. We asked for a reduction in the bill due to the poor service, lack of food and a disgusting dish. They were very rude and at no time were we listened too.They eventually after police involvement we paid a portion of the bill.My parties advice to anyone having a holiday in Lake Garda which is lovely and lots of nice restaurants is LEAVE...

Food was great, that's the only positive thing I can say about this place. Customer service was awful! Employees were so rude! You could see on their faces that they could't give a damn thing about you as a paying customer. We were with my boyfried looking for a place where we could find sandwitches to eat as a breakfast. We found this Cafè and we asked if they had some and the answer was cold NO. We wondered around and walked to the other side of the building where we found place where to eat. Well it was the same Café (just the river side of it) where we (suprise suprise) ordered sandwitches!!
