Restaurant Il Bastione — Restaurant in Pisa

Of course Italians have the best dishes and tastiest dishes, but this restaurant HAS THE BEST FOOD THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO TRY IT AT LEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIFE!!!!

I'm a food lover and I tried a lot of dishes around the world, from Asian food like Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Iranian... to Europeans such as Spanish, French, and even Italian in Rome! But food and dishes in this restaurant like tasting a piece of HEAVEN!

We tried it on our first day of our trip to Pisa, and we ordered "Smoked salmon pizza" and "Ham and mushroom pizza" based on the waitress recommendation which was very kind. I don't believe that smoked salmon on pizza can taste like this. Even the chef came to our table and asked us if we like the food which I can't even describe the taste. It was amazing.

On the second day of our trip, we tried "Clam spaghetti" and a pizza which I can't remember its name, and the spaghetti was full of clams and shrimps(again based on the waitress recommendation). I can swear that I HAVE NEVER TASTE ANYTHING MORE DELICIOUS THAn CALM SPAGHETTI!

Even the tiramisu and salads are fantastic! I think it was the best tiramisu I have ever tried. I don't know how, but even tomatoes inside salad are tastier than normal tomatoes which I believe that it shows the quality of ingredients.

We were so looking forward to enjoying fresh seafood at this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. In fact, the fresh fish and seafood pasta were so good. We ordered a second seafood pasta.

Unfortunately the second seafood pasta came out EXTREMELY salty and the pasta was chewy in the center. We shared the feedback with our waitress and was promptly greeted by, the owner who shared that a woman had cooked our first dish, but that he himself had prepared the second dish. He defended the pasta as being Italian style al dente, and wouldn’t even apologize for the level of salt in the food. He was more interested in expressing that he was right, rather than taking in to account are honest feedback. Truly, I wouldn’t have posted this review had it not been for his arrogant, self-centered attitude. A simple apology and we would’ve left happy. Our waitress was amazing and the first two dishes had been cooked with love.

Suggestion: put the woman in charge of the kitchen and leave guest relations to...

Ahhh..To walk back into Frank's Restaurant is like a little slice of heaven..I can sit in the shade, on his sunny terrace and really RELAX...Ice cold pints of Moretti at a price that I can afford...A perfect Aperol spritz around 5 ish...Friendly staff, happy customers and its always super busy with great music and a fun happy vibe....Always great conversation with the owners and customers whilst people watching all the stressed tourists pass by heading to some rip off joint on the strip...Heaven..and then I can eat like a king with no time limit...If I want the table all day and I'm consuming, then I don't have a care in the world.. That's what I want on vacation...Oh Sorry, I forgot to mention the most important fact...it has the best restaurant bathroom in all of Pisa, with a proper seat, scented candles, flowers etc and its fully private..if you know how important that is for a tourist...You...
