Pizzeria Caroli 1969 — Restaurant in Pomezia

I recently visited Pizzeria Caroli 1969 in Pomezia, Rome, and left with mixed feelings about the experience. The restaurant has a charming and nostalgic ambiance, with decor that reflects its long history since opening in 1969. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.

Starting with the positives, the pizza at Caroli 1969 was decent. The crust was thin and crispy, which is typical of traditional Roman-style pizza, and the toppings were fresh. However, while the pizza was okay, it didn't quite live up to the high expectations set by the restaurant's reputation. It was good, but not exceptional, and there are other pizzerias in the area that offer better quality for the same price.

Unfortunately, several aspects of the experience left me disappointed. One major issue was the service. The pizza maker was friendly and seemed skilled at his craft, but the rest of the staff were quite the opposite. They appeared disinterested and unwelcoming, which significantly detracted from the overall dining experience. At times, they were even abrupt, banging glasses on the table when serving drinks, creating an unpleasant atmosphere.

Another point of contention was the restaurant's layout. The space was overly full and cramped, with tables placed very close together. This made the dining area feel crowded and uncomfortable, especially during peak hours. The lack of space not only affected our comfort but also contributed to a high noise level, making it difficult to have a conversation.

Additionally, the wait time for our order was longer than expected, even though the restaurant wasn't at full capacity when we arrived. The slow service, combined with the unfriendly staff, made the wait even more frustrating.

The prices at Caroli 1969 also seemed a bit steep, particularly for the appetizers and drinks. While the quality of the pizza might justify a higher price point, the overall experience didn't feel like it offered good value for the money, especially considering the service issues and cramped seating.

In summary, Pizzeria Caroli 1969 in Pomezia offers a decent pizza experience, but it is marred by unfriendly staff, slow service, and a cramped, noisy dining area. If you decide to visit, go for the pizza and hope for a less crowded time, but be prepared for potential service shortcomings and a less-than-perfect dining...

Effettuata l'ordinazione tramite telefono per tre pizze da asporto. Arriviamo puntuali alle ore 20:00 (orario di ritiro delle pizze) e immediatamente ci viene chiesto di pagare €27,00 ; il tempo passa e ancora non ci viene dato niente, benché vediamo che invece alle compagnie di delivery vengono consegnate istantaneamente. Passano 20 minuti e chiediamo quanto manca per le pizze e ci comunicano che a breve sarebbero state pronte… chiediamo nel mentre se si potevano già tagliare. La pizza continua a non arrivare… Dopo mezz’ora la signora si avvicina e ci comunica che si sono scordati di mettere un ingrediente fondamentale, e ci chiede se potevano non metterlo e ritirarla così, oppure metterne un altro… Noi stupiti ed irritati comunichiamo che avremmo voluto l’ingrediente che avevamo richiesto, ci viene confermato e continuiamo ad aspettare. Viene la pizzaiola e ci porta FINALMENTE le pizze… Noi stupiti ed incuriositi, controlliamo il contenuto, ebbene:

-LE PIZZE NON SONO TAGLIATE -LE PIZZE SONO PICCOLISSIME, non ne ho mai viste di così piccole (pizze baby?) LA PIZZA SENZA GLUTINE HA IMPASTO CRUDO con zucchine che sembrano surgelate LA PIZZA A BASSO CONTENUTO GLICEMICO È MOLTO DURA e soprattutto la più piccola delle 3, pagata per ben €12,00 LA PIZZA CON IMPASTO NORMALE ANZICHÉ ESSERE SU BASE BIANCA VI È SU BASE ROSSA!

NON ABBIAMO RICEVUTO ALCUNE SCUSE DA PARTE LORO nonostante ci abbiano fatto aspettare mezz’ora per pizze con errori e oltretutto piccolissime e non tagliate Presumiamo che abbiano fatto le cose di fretta poiché già erano in ritardo, ma almeno avevamo il diritto di essere avvertiti e di sapere un orario effettivo per ritirare la pizza, possibilmente senza inconvenienti. Siamo rammaricati dal grosso disservizio che abbiamo subito.

NON CONSIGLIAMO ASSOLUTAMENTE LA VISITA PRESSO QUESTA PIZZERIA POICHÉ VI È UNA MANCANZA DI INTERESSE E PREMURA NEI CONFRONTI DEI CLIENTI

I can easily say that this place feels like home. Best pizzeria in town, one of the best in all Italy. Superb Pizzeria Romana (expect a thin crust then), they mix tradition and innovation. They won several awards to so you must be mad to miss this place. Staff is super friendly and kind, their pizza is even better, a supreme entrancing sublime experience for everyone.
