When you walk up to the restaurant you're kind of wondering what kind of "back alley restaurant" this is going to be. However, once you reach the garden in the back you immediately know you're gonna have a great experience. And it was.
This is an upscale restaurant with fantastic service and staff. You start off with a long wine list to choose from, along with suggestions to go with your food.
The food is the best I've had in Italy thus far. It feels fresh and a lot healthier than the restaurants we've been to so far. And for once, we weren't served dinner rolls for bread.
My wife had the gnocchi and I had the fish fillet. My potato mash was slightly cold and lumpy, but I don't know if Italians serve it that way (lumpy mash wouldn't fly in my family). Otherwise, no complaints. The fish was delicious.
We finished with the tiramisu which was equally as good as the rest of the food. It was light and fluffy. The gold-ish dust does a good job of completing the aesthetic.
Highly recommend if you're looking for higher experience...

The cheapest of our 3 day visit. Surprising as Osteria's, being higher on the dining hierarchy, are normally the pricier option.
Of the places we ate, this is where locals went. Night we were there, there was a large group of @36people in the back of the outdoor patio. Always a good sign. And of course, the atmosphere was terrific as a result.
Food was very good. Service was very good. We were really happy with this find.
Mineral and natural water. Bottle of a young Lacryma Christi di Vesuvio. Spaghetti genovese, mixed grill, pepperoncini, patate fritte, spaghetti with squid. Tiramisu, prostate, x2.caffee deca, espresso normal.
Book.

Read moreOne of the best restaurant experiences i've had in recent years. The staff was friendly, competent and professional (extra points for not batting an eye at my visible stimming, did not feel uncomfortable). I got the paccheri ricciola, the insalata di mare and cannolo scomposto, plus tried all the dishes the rest of my family got, everything was delicious (hence the hand flapping) and portion sizes were satisfying, wonderful wine (northern italian mama sommelier approves). They offer EVERYTHING in gluten free version as well (my mum is gluten free) and the taste was near unchanged, they are also careful with contamination (as i understand it the owner(?) is a celiac so you've got an ally in there making sure). The prices can be a bit high if you're young and broke (main dishes range from 15 to 20ish) but fair. The place was tastefully decorated and the atmosphere...
