We decided to visit this restaurant because of the many good reviews and its impressive 4.6 rating on Google. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect that high score at all.
When we arrived, there was a long queue, but a friendly lady told us the wait would be about 10 minutes — which was fine. Shortly after, a different staff member took over, and that’s when the confusion started. There was no system in place; guests were standing all over the place with no clear order, and the atmosphere quickly turned chaotic.
After a long wait, they started placing extra tables outside, which only added to the pressure. We eventually managed to place our order, but then the real waiting began: the second course took over 30 minutes to arrive. Inside, it was absolute chaos. That seemed to be the reason the kitchen was so backed up — and if you can’t handle the rush, adding more tables isn’t a smart move..
The service felt rushed, impersonal, and far from welcoming. As for the food: it was, at best, average. Nothing stood out, and it definitely didn’t live up to the high rating.
All in all, a disappointing experience. We won’t be...
Read morePorto 82 was a lovely surprise on our unexpected journey to Porto Venere. We were on the hunt for some seafood and pesto and were not disappointed with our food here. We started with a bottle of red wine local to Cinque Terre at a shocking 22 euro. The wine was so smooth that I was losing track of how much I drank. As for the meal itself, we were excited to find a hand-written specials menu and ordered ourselves spaghetti with lobster and one of the fresh catches of the day - which didn't disappoint. We also made sure to have some pesto pasta which was very amazing - wait till it's closer to luke warm in temperature to really enjoy the flavors! Service was really great and our servers were comfortable speaking English or there's always a translation app to supplement. Aurora was very helpful during our time at Porto 82. Don't sell this place short plus you may end up getting lucky as a walk-in if you arrive closer to...
Read moreI recently dined at Porto 82 Risto-Pescheria in August 2025. The experience was mixed, leading me to rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
The food quality was not up to expectations. The fish served was definitely not fresh, which was disappointing for a seafood restaurant. I would recommend avoiding "il piatto del giorno" as it does not offer good value for money. Additionally, it seems that several restaurants in the area share the same "menu fisso", which should be approached with caution.
The dining environment was quite small but had air conditioning—a much-needed comfort given the August heat in Portovenere. An odd detail that stood out was seeing the same waiters who had served us at another restaurant, adding to the overall peculiar experience.
While the restaurant has potential, improvements in food freshness and value, along with clearer menu differentiation, could enhance the...
