We stopped off here for some gelato then came back for a cocktail too. We had lemon & pesto gelato and we can highly recommend those flavours! Pesto was a new one but it was subtle and so nice! We then stopped off for an Aperol Spritz before dinner 🍹 It was so strong but I guess that’s a good thing for the price 😂 Service out on the terrace was a bit slow, we couldn’t get the waiters attention so just had to get up and go and find him to ask to pay. And also we sat down at a table with dirty glasses on when we arrived as there were only 2 tables available and it took quite a while for a waiter to come & clear the table, a bit annoying as the empty cocktail glasses were attracting wasps. They also bring out a tray of snacks when you order drinks so it’s best to reject that when they bring it if you don’t want it otherwise they will charge you for it and if you don’t eat it, it attracts flies and wasps so again we had to get the waiters attention to take it away as we didn’t want it due to going for a meal straight after our drinks. Although the service wasn’t 5 star, it didn’t effect our visit in the long run and we really enjoyed it all.

There are lots of restaurants here on the waterfront in Porto Venere. Most offer great views of course and serve fish and seafood. So, it's hard to choose which one to dine in. We went for this one, because the parasols/umbrellas had a good size and provided nice shade on this sunny day and because or dog was very welcome here as well. Staff was nice and friendly. Brought a bowl of water for our Bully. Prices were fair. Ordered a glass of white wine each (nice local wine), a mixed fried seafood and Tuna Tartare. The fried seafood was nice, crispy and fresh. Calamari were really good, not your usual frozen stuff, but nice and tender. Fried shrimp and anchovies both very good as well. Suprisingly good was the Tuna Tartare. Very high quality fish, a good amount of lemon juice mixed in and a selection of fruit on the side with balsamico. A really great dish. Fantastic tuna. Probably the best Tuna Tartare I've ever had. A great place to enjoy lunch and watch the world go by.

It is very expensive for the quantity they serve... The fish and seafood are fresh but you don’t end up full/satisfied unless you order pasta. We paid 61€ for 2 fish dishes and a starter to share... Moreover, the bread provided is of bad quality. The service is one of the worst I have ever seen, they are not attentive, they don't make themselves understood even if you are a foreigner and you have to ask several times to different waiters for someone to pay attention to you. Of course, the views are direct to the sea but it is not worth it.

We went with a group of 12. The view is good but then the food is average and pricey. Even though people ordered separate dishes, it all came on one big plate to share. They argued those dishes are minimum for 2 but that's not the case for the pesto dish... Is it really that hard to get the food on different plates? When it came to payment, we thought we'd make it easy for them by getting the full bill and collect the money together. They then refused we pay with two different CC (again, we're 12, be more flexible!). It's like they tried to make our life difficult on purpose. They became rude to some people of the group....
