Ristorante del Pescatore — Restaurant in Porto Venere

What a great experience! Me and my family we spent 3 days in Porto Venere. Find a place where you could eat good food and have good service was not that easy. We were very surprised how all the restaurant on the water closer to the church ( which is where all the tourist go first ) lacked of quality. We tried a few and were not happy. Then, we found Ristorante Pescatore and things got much much better. An amazing service from the actual owner and his lovely employee who went extra miles to make sure our night would have been great , absolute fresh delicious perfectly cooked food and not too expensive. These guys deserve all the support from all the people coming to Porto Venere as they are the very few that put a great effort. It was my mum birthday and at the end they came to the table with a candle on dessert and did sing a song too. My mum was so happy and so was I. I highly recommend this place to any person for dinner or even lunch if they are open. Thanks again for the best food so far in...

We went to this restaurant around the corner from our hotel after trying to book other places, and we were pleasantly surprised - so much so that we went back the next night and ordered the same pasta.

The restaurant was not overly full, so I was a bit concerned, but they seem to do a lot of take out meals. The waiter was charming and kind and our meals came out quickly. I would recommend anything made with the local pesto - it’s the best I’ve ever had. Ieri serata pesce, e non poteva essere altro a Portovenere, dopo aver tentato di prenotare in diversi locali, tutti esauriti, abbiamo trovato questo “Il Pescatore” che dalle recensioni (mi sarebbe piaciuto conoscere gli autori) sembrava “interessante” ma, per esperienza, bisogna sempre affidarsi all’istinto che, appena visto il locale, mi suggeriva di non entrare🤔. Molto vintage l’arredamento ed il locale, seppur spazioso, alle ore 20 circa era quasi del tutto vuoto. Il personale seppur forzatamente premuroso, ma quasi svogliato, si precipita con il menù...andiamo sul classico dopo un doveroso antipasto di pesce, senza infamia e senza lode, si passa al fritto misto che, già di per se impresentabile in un mini cestino di metallo per fritture, comprendeva la cosa più antipatica che ti possa capitare in un “fritto misto“, dei minuscoli gamberetti completi del loro carapace Impossibili da “gustate” tanto quanto impossibili da pulire (ci sarebbe voluta tutta la serata solo per quello)...naturalmente abbandonati al loro d(c)estino...beh il finale, dopo aver chiesto un bicchierino di sciacchetra’ (liquore del posto prodotto nella prov di La Spezia, passito doc delle5 terre), mi sentivo dire che non lo avevano...ma che ci sono venuto a fare qui a Portovenere in cerca sì, di bel mare e bei luoghi che ho potuto visitare e plaudire, ma le eccellenze?
