Sunset Beach Club Bagnaia — Restaurant in Portoferraio

Beautiful location, good kitchen, but disappointing service.

We visited twice, but unfortunately left disappointed both times. The first time, we were served a half-full plate of pasta ragù, while the table next to us – a group – received the exact same dish with nearly double the portion. We mentioned it to the staff, but nothing was done. We didn’t feel taken seriously.

A few days later we gave it another try, with two adults and two children. The kitchen is good – everything tasted great – but the starters and main courses were served at the same time. The bread that was supposed to come before the starter never arrived, yet we were charged €14 for “bread and service.” No apology, no gesture, nothing.

We paid €115 and were out the door within an hour. We ended up having dessert elsewhere.

Cena a dir poco disastrosa. Entro nel locale dall'accesso superiore notando subito la poca cura degli spazi. Sorvolo. Vista e tramonto nulla da dire. Ordiniamo 2 antipasti da dividere e 4 primi per iniziare (alla fine i primi per iniziare sono rimasti per iniziare e per terminare). Come vino vermentino (sarà l unica cosa positiva). Gli antipasti tutto sommato accettabili ma la catastrofe arriva con i primi. 2 spaghetti di terra per i bambini. Chiediamo il parmigiano e ci dicono che non c'è. Un ristorante privo di parmigiano credo sia introvabile in mezza Italia. La nota dolente, gli spaghetti alle vongole ( per l esattezza 9 vongole contate). Asciutti, insipidi, insapore. La mia compagna lì mangia. Io li lascio sul tavolo. Dopo circa 25 minuti qualcuno si degna di domandarmi perché gli spaghetti fossero nel piatto. Spiego le mie ragioni e si scusano dicendomi che su migliaia di piatti uno può uscire male. Bene! Se metti in cucina, in una località di mare delle persone che non sanno fare gli spaghetti alle vongole è bene che tu prenda quelle persone e le congedi. Il personale si scusa e senza voler polemizzare ulteriormente accenno un sorriso e dico "offrirmi amaro e caffè e siamo amici come prima". Bene... Pare si dimentichino dei caffè e degli amari finché la persona a cui li ho chiesti si accorge e di fretta e furia mi porta due limoncelli. Il caffè arriva dopo gli amari. Nel frattempo il bambino ha bisogno del bagno. Con la mamma va nel bagno delle signore e terminati i bisogni si accorgono che non c' è né carta igienica né fazzoletti di carta per asciugare le mani. Alla fine si giunge fortunatamente all epilogo. Mi alzo e vado in cassa. Aspetto e aspetto per alcuni minuti(almeno 5) mentre il barista grida "cassaaaa.... Cassaaaa.... Qualcuno in cassa". Mentre attendo di dover pagare manco fosse un premio girovago per il locale notando roba buttata qua e la tra cui dei cacciaviti abbandonati su alcune mensole. Ma alla fine dico "chi se ne frega dei cacciaviti dopo lo schifo che mi hanno portato ?". Nel mentre giunge la persona in "cassaaaaaa". Si scusa cordialmente per la terza volta. Non mi addebita il piatto rimandato indietro e mi offre amari e caffè. Ciò nonostante pago oltre 130 euro per aver visto il sole scendere nel mare. Spaghetti alle vongole. Mettere olio in padella con dell aglio. Appena soffrigge gettare le vongole (una quindicina di vongole per 22 euro non vi fanno fallire). A spaghetto quasi in cottura in acqua salata terminare la cottura con le vongole per dare il giusto sapore e cremosità. A fine cottura triturare finemente del prezzemolo fresco e aggiungerlo. The first thing that I want to say is that this is one of the most beautiful and best in general restaurants I’ve ever been to. To start off with the food, it’s very tasty and gourmet looking. I would really recommend taking the “tartar al tonno con semi di sesamo” which was really good and I barely had to wait anything after ordering. The price was a bit steep (16€) and was a bit small for that price overall really good. For my main, I shared the risotto which was really good but the cost was a bit steep (around 40€) but worth it. For the service, they were really kind and fast when bringing us the food or for the ordering phase. One of the most trained staff I’ve seen! Lastly for the atmosphere, all I need to say is that it was one of most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen as we were sited outside and so we saw an amazing sunset. 100% recommend this restaurant if you are visiting...
