Holidaying in south west Sardinia from the U.K. in mid June 2022, we visited this family restaurant for dinner, having pre-booked.

It is set in the heart of Pula town in a beautiful courtyard, with fruit trees and a display of historical tools used for farming.

You can also see the porchetta, little piglets roasting in the fireplace.

Dinner was outside in the courtyard.

We were warmly welcomed and sat at our table.

We had a nice assortment of bread and chilled bottle water.

For antipasti, we shared a mixed plate of cheeses, grilled vegetables and cheese.

For the Prima course we had macarrones with beef and a tomato ravioli.

For the main course we had porchetta, which is pieces of roast suckling piglet, which was served with small roast potatoes and herbs.

For dessert we shared a local Sardinian dessert called Sebadas which is a deep fried pastry with ricotta and honey. We then had a mirto, a liqueur made from myrtle leaves - unique to Sardinia. It is a very nice digestive.

The food was excellent.

For drinks, we shared a nice bottle of Cannonau, a Sardinian red wine.

This restaurant is a must visit restaurant - the venue is beautiful, great atmosphere, excellent food, wonderful service, friendly staff (who also speak English) and good value.

Please book in advance to avoid disappointment as they get fully booked...

If i coukd rate with minus 5 stars I would rate it like that. ABSOLUTE disgrace and shamefull restaurant with worst personell and owner. Been trying to call for a reservation more than dozen times during working hours of the “joint” but they did not seem to care to answer, went to place during the day to book and they did not care to do that as well and finally during evening walk we entered to ask for the booking where they said no place for next few days whixh is OK and legitimate. After juat asking for a reason why are they not answerinng the phone “owner” shows up and starts pushing us out with three small kids without absolutely ANY reason!!! We’ve been all over the world eating in countless restaurants but this type of behaviour towards clients and guest we’ve never ever witnessed. Stay away from it...

Disappointing starter - it was the Hunters meat board and some of the meat was virtually inedible, it was so chewy! Also, there were two slices of what turned out to be "bread" on the board. It was the weirdest looking/tasting/textured bread we have ever seen. We tried it but gave up after one bite each!

The main's were a lot better though - the lamb in white wine "gravy" (!?) and the wild boar in red wine sauce. The lamb was super soft and with no fat to speak of, but the gravy wasn't really gravy - more like what was left of the wine and juices. The wild boar was in a really rich and tasty sauce, was just soft enough and there was loads of meat.

Probably would have been 4 stars but for...

A reservation here is a must, as the place fills up very quickly. Su Furriadroxu is a charming courtyard restaurant in the village of Pula, standing out from the more tourist-oriented eateries in the area. The atmosphere feels authentic and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening. Everything we tried was delicious, with the spit-roasted suckling pig being the absolute highlight, along with the traditional Sardinian pasta dishes. The service is not your typical formal restaurant style — instead, it’s warm, genuine, and perfectly in tune with the laid-back character of the place. One of the best dining experiences in the area and absolutely worth a visit if you’re in Pula.
