I had the pleasure to dine in this beautiful place few nights ago with a dear local friend after he recommended checking this establishment which he already knew and what's better than going to dine where the locals are going? So I followed him promptly and I am deeply satisfied. Everything was just perfect, the choice of the ingredients and products offered in the menu is their priority, and you can feel that with every bite or every sip of wine you take. Michael, the head waiter, correctly recommended us the best wine to pair with our meal (he seemed to have quite an extensive knowledge on the matter) and together with his assistant and with the help of the kitchen they made us spend an unforgettable evening. We were just passing by the village of San Vigilio and, although is not my first time visiting this beautiful little town, it was my first time discovering this cozy and warm little osteria serving only traditional dishes prepared with ingredients that they produce themselves (the owners have a farm and produce their own meat and vegetables and, what they don't produce, they source it locally from selected wineries and beverage producers of the area, so you are in for a pleasurable discovery if you stop by this place). Highly recommended, best reserving before, especially during peak ski season time. The half board option was a good value and was delicious, including a four course dinner prepared with food produced on the farm or the area, and a hearty and delicious homemade breakfast. Avni, our server, was delightful. Michael speaks English well and he was very willing answer any questions about our trip or the historic home that has been in the family for generations. He was available sometimes in person, and consistently through WhatsApp. The place was prettier than the pictures.||Tips: There is a bus stop not far down the hill from Ciastel, and St. Vigil is a short walk on the sidewalk along the highway, but a car was handy.|We underestimated drive times to some of the "must see" hikes. Michael helped us some lovely hikes that were more accessible and less overcrowded. We were not...
