Ristorante Mathiaskeller — Restaurant in Pustertal - Val Pusteria

We were 'welcomed' by a waiter with a serious attitude and made reservations for that evening. We decided not to have dinner there because of the waiter's behaviour.

The waiter in question couldn't make himself understood in German or English (which is not an issue at all, after all we don't speak Italian) but after we asked him to repeat himself a few times in both languages, the waiter showed a seriously bad attitude towards us. He sighed deeply and with a very annoyed look on his face and no longer making eye contact he barked 'Name?' and 'Time?' - we didn't feel like we were worth his time and left the restaurant.

Ero già stata in questo ristorante anni fa e conservato un bellissimo ricordo sia come location che come qualità del cibo, cortesia e preparazione del personale. Decido pertanto di prenotare portando degli amici. Purtroppo questa volta è stata una delusione. Temo che qualcosa sia cambiato, forse la gestione ,ma l'approccio non è stato sicuramente tra i migliori. Rapidamente spiego: nel cestino del pane notiano che erano presenti delle fette un pò vecchiotte(pane raffermo) facciamo notare alla cameriera che ci risponde che il pane aveva preso aria perché lo lasciano all'aperto, la mattina...ignoriamo la cosa, anche se ci viene ,sospetto che il pane avanzato dai vari tavoli venga riutilizzato....Nel momento in cui ordiniamo i piatti ordiniamo anche i dolci, tra cui il kaiserschmarren, ( sapevo che era tra i posti dove lo facevano meglio, anche perché provato personalmente, di tutta la val badia). Dopo aver aspettato un tempo abbastanza lungo per cenare, ma questo non ha rappresentato un problema, il locale era pieno, arriva finalmente il tanto sospirato kaiserschmarren, ma senza marmellata...facciamo notare questa mancanza alla cameriera che ci dice: "ci avete beccato!!! La marmellata è terminata" Considerando che è tra gli ingredienti principali se ci avessero avvisato prima avremmo potuto anche scegliere altro. Il peggio arriva al momento del pagamento del conto, quando facciamo notare alla proprietaria, l'inconveniente del dolce e del pane. Sul pane ci ride in faccia....mentre sul dolce ci dice che ci avrebbe fatto trovare un barattolo di marmellata per il giorno successivo...alle nostre obbiezioni arriva addirittura chiedere ad un suo collaboratore di andare a prendere la marmellata per dimostrare non so che, avrebbero potuto prenderla prima e per concludere ci sottolinea che dal conto totale avevano tolto 3 EURO....della marmellata. Grande delusione, non tornerò per il momento e non consiglierò più il ristorante se non per una breve visita senza consumazione perché resta sempre...

This was probably the worst service and treatment we've had in a restaurant. I hope the man who served us just had a really, really bad day.

We sat outside, and the waiter seemed to do exactly everything he could to NOT give us service, also when we repeatedly asked to place an order. He actively looked for any other guests to serve instead of us, also when he finally decided to come to our table.

Then we got other drinks than those we ordered. Not too surprising due to the amount of attention the waiter showed us when he took our order.

The food was ok, but not worth the high price. We expected more for that price range. However, the service was the...
