Answer to replay longer down. Terrible service. Felt ignored on arrival. Attempted eye contact with several waiters minutes before we got in contact. Menu card is misleading as it is not updated in minimum quantity of meat (according what the waiter told us). Ordered Tequila before eating- got vodka. Waiter insisted we had ordered vodka. I assured we didn’t because I knew perfectly well what I had ordered and we never drink vodka. The waiter brought our right order at least, he was looking angry and didn’t mention a word rest of our stay, he looked angrily the food on our table as he looked away, not so much as an apology or anything for his mistake. We tried to make eye contact after we got our food as we were missing part of the order, it was difficult to make contact. Again an angry face as he brought wat we have paid for. It's a real shame because we felt strangely uncomfortable afterwards, it ruined the experience. No one checked on us during the meal. I expected a bigger service for such a place, especially because the service does not live up to the good food and the price. It is unfortunate that guest who pay a lot of money have to feel like they are a problem to the waiter. I see that there are more people who mention the excellent food and poor service as well. I think this place have to do something about it. This waiter should change his attitude.
Do I come back to this restaurant? - no I would not out myself in such situation again.
Reply to answer: First of all, if you have a restaurant you have to pay attention to your guests and make sure they are comfortable - not giving your angry and annoying face (because YOU made a mistake with drinks). Your guest pay your salary. If your guest are trying to hard to get eye contact with the staff (as you say) then something is wrong in the restaurant and the service should improve and be evaluated. If you have trouble communicating in other languages than your native, make sure you get things right. I mean this is a tourist destination. Last, your restaurant was also empty the time we arrived. I guess there were 2 other tables. The waiter was sitting down holding his head between this hands a few times so it couldn’t have been that busy. Unless you consider a few tables as busy for you. If you keep having this mentality about your guests your restaurant will not...
Read moreI won’t delve on the food/steaks too much. To certain extent it is subjective, but in our opinion both the T Bone, Fillets, Tartare were all under par. Not to be too technical, the tartare proportions were wrong - the egg yolk was too big for the tartare, plus all the albumen hadn’t been removed. The Dijon proportions were spot on, however the caper and onion quantities was lacking. Sadly the egg took over the dish. Both fillets were tail ends and didn’t offer the tenderness one would expect from fillet. Our American T Bone was tasteless. I’m willing to compromise and accept that possibly the fault was mine as I did stipulate I wasn’t partial to mega hung/dried beef…..but it was devoid of flavour and seasoning. We asked for it to be cooked blu/rare which it was, but the grill was obviously not at the right temperature and there was no crust delicious crust. It was very disappointing. But this wasn’t the reason for my relatively low score, after all, as I wrote previously, to a point it is subjective. What isn’t acceptable is asking us if we’d like a limoncello and then charging €3.50 per warm glass. In 40 years, yes 40 years, this is the first time I have been charged for a big standard amaro. Excuse the pun, but this left a very, very bitter taste in our mouths. The experience was already a negative one, but this was the final straw that decisively hammered the nails...
Read moreHonestly we where invisible to the staff it seemed. We arrived and it was ok we got a nice seat on the outside, the tables were a bit too close to each other so it was a bit crowded. Once we where seated the the waiter asked what menus and even then the interaction wasn't very welcoming. I realized that everyone around us had bread on their tables to nibble we didn't even get any. When the waiter come to take our order it was like we had been invisible to them because when out of no where he said "I am ready for you" me and my girlfriend thought that he was talking to the other table because there was no eye contact with us at all. It felt that we weren't really welcomed there if I have to be honest. The starters we chose were really nice and it made up for the uncomfortable welcome in a way but after that it just went downhill because once we had finished eating the plates where still on the table and they stayed there because no one picked them up until the main course arrived and the waiter tried to place it on the table when there was no space. When I handed her the empty starter plate with my cutlery that had been used she handed it back to me but I had to ask her that I preferred a new set. The main it's self was not what I expected the risotto was bland and lacked in flavour. It was a real let down if...
