When on holiday in Rimini, people always ask me where is the city centre meaning the nightlife next to the seaside. What many don't know is that the actual city centre is quite distant from the beach. There is a whole lot to explore: starting from the Roman arch and bridge, to the Medieval castle to the more recent Opera Theatre. Among these beautiful history pills, there is Borgo San Giuliano. It is quite small in its dimensions, but it represents a deep immersion into the recent history of our city. The Borgo is known also as the "fishermen city". Rimini had always been a city of fishermen and the Borgo manage to still depict this tradition. Among the colorful streets of this neighbourhood, you can find incredible restaurants. Osteria de Borg is one of them. For years, its value has been recognised on important cousine magasines and it still manages to surprise with its special dishes. In the summer, they have managed to create a typical courtyard with typical table covers and warm piadinas for you to enjoy while you wait for your food. The quality of the service is life-bringing. The staff is young and cheerful, and ready to satisfy every need you might have with a smile. We ordered a board with crostini (the difference with bruschettas, more known abroad, is the bread, which here is toasted a bit less and the topping which can vary more than the typical tomato and origano). We also had a board of cheese to share: we were told they all are different types of Pecorino, served with honey and jam. As main dish, I ordered a parmigiana. You cannot miss the red house wine: a local Sangiovese that will allow you to taste the true tradition Osteria de Borg is trying (and...
Read moreDuring our recent visit to Osteria de Borg, we were initially drawn in by the allure of its cozy terrace. Our expectations were quite high, anticipating a delightful dining experience. However, I must admit that not everything went as smoothly as I had hoped. The culinary journey began with the mixed croutons appetizer. Although the flavors were decent, we were taken aback when a mushroom salad arrived on the side. Initially, we thought it was part of the appetizer, but to our surprise, it appeared separately on the bill during payment. While it was only a minor cost, it still left us feeling a bit disappointed with the communication. Moving on to the main course, I opted for the mixed meat dish. Unfortunately, I found it to be overcooked and excessively dry. This impacted my overall enjoyment of the dish, except for the sausage, which stood out as the most flavorful element. On the brighter side, I must commend the chef for the delightful meatballs and zucchini, as they truly impressed my taste buds. I believe that Osteria de Borg has the potential to improve and offer an even better dining experience in the future. Perhaps paying closer attention to communication with customers about additional charges for sides would be beneficial. Additionally, ensuring the main courses are prepared to perfection will certainly enhance the overall satisfaction of the patrons. I genuinely wish the restaurant the best and hope that my feedback can contribute to their ongoing growth...

Nestled in the charming Borgo San Giuliano neighbourhood of Rimini, Osteria de Borg is a true gem that honours the deep culinary traditions of Emilia-Romagna. During my visit, I sampled four standout main dishes, each one a masterclass in flavour, technique, and regional authenticity.
The Tagliatelle al Sugo Piselli was deceptively simple—perfectly al dente pasta paired with a delicate tomato and pea sauce that felt both comforting and refined. The Gnocchi di Patate Gialle di Gemmano with “Mora Romagnola” sausage, mascarpone cream, and peppers was rich and satisfying. The sweetness of the peppers perfeclty balances the richness of the cream and sausage. The Cappelletti in Brodo di Gallina was traditional and soulful, with a clear, flavourful broth and perfectly folded pasta. Finally, the Cappelletti dell’Osteria alla Carote added a gentle sweetness that made it surprisingly unique while staying rooted in classic technique. Sweet and savoury in harmonious dialogue.
Service was warm and attentive (but not intrusive), and the atmosphere struck just the right note between rustic and welcoming. Unpretentious and casual, yet of the highest quality, Osteria de Borg simply does everything right. A must-visit for anyone seeking real...
