Ristorante Marechiaro — Restaurant in undefined

This was one of my mum's favourite restaurants.. So after she passed away my partner and I went there. We had a very basic menu as I had virtually no appetite because of losing my mum.. I just got mussels gratin and clams pasta while my partner had mint maltagliati (a freshly made short pasta with mint in it.. yummy!) with red lobster ("astice" in Italian). The mussels gratin was mouthwatering and perfectly cooked (at Marechiaro they are fish experts for many years which makes a real difference to many other places of that range). Mussels are one of my favourite foods since I was a child, so I can tell the difference.. these were fleshy, plumpy, not dry, not bland, just perfectly cooked. My partner absolutely loved his pasta with astice, and my clams pasta was also mouthwatering. Service was also excellent with one waiter (Luigi) who was especially professional and helpful. This restaurant is located right in the sea like a mini island and it now features a great terrace cocktail bar where you can enjoy the sunset and the rest of the evening with your friends. It s a unique spot in Gallipoli and a 'must-see' for foodies and not. If you are vegetarian, I think the 'Menu Terra' is probably the best choice for you. One thing I always liked about the place is that you can see the seabed through the floor in the main restaurant area! We went on a holiday night, so it was probably busier than usual but definitely not full. The staff had a feel of being overwhelmed, as if several people had not gone to work that night and they were making due with what they had (owner/manager was going in and out of the kitchen himself serving dishes). We had to repeat our order several times. They were very nice and apologetic, though. The worst part was the fact that they didn't have any vegetarian options, but they did make me a custom dish. Servizio veramente pessimo, il peggiore mai visto fin'ora in un ristorante! Ti consentono di prenotare, come abbiamo fatto noi ed eravamo solamente in 3, ma poi arrivando sul posto ti dicono che bisogna aspettare che si liberi il tavolo perché sono tutti occupati. E ci tengo a precisare che siamo arrivati in perfetto orario! Quindi mi chiedo perché permettono di prenotare se vige la regola del chi prima arriva? Siamo stati 1 ora in attesa del tavolo, chiedevamo ai camerieri per capire le tempistiche e rispondevano in modo scorbutico e infastidito, mai visto un servizio così pessimo. Alla fine dopo quasi 1 ora e mezza di attesa, essendosi fatta mezzanotte, abbiamo deciso di andare via dato che non ci avevano nemmeno fatto accomodare nonostante alcuni tavoli si fossero liberati, era come se si fossero dimenticati di noi. Parlando anche con un ragazzo che era lì come cliente mi sono reso conto che è un trattamento abituale dato che anche lui e la ragazza erano lì dalle 22, erano stati fatti accomodare ma dopo 1 ora e mezza dall'ordine non avevano ricevuto ancora nulla da mangiare, inaccettabile! Per quanto mi riguarda merita 0 stelle, peccato solo per la location che è molto carina.

RISPOSTA: Con tutto il rispetto non mi riferivo a lei, bensì ai camerieri. Le assicuro che abbiamo aspettato per più di 1 ora presso il vostro ristorante. Inoltre io giudico ciò che ho vissuto, non mi risulta normale far attendere 1 ora i clienti nonostante la prenotazione, e ripeto, non era solo il mio caso. Il cibo ovviamente non posso giudicarlo dato che nemmeno mi avete fatto accomodare. Con tutto il...
