Alma Criolla — Restaurant in Rome

As far as I could be an expert on this type of cuisine (and I'm not), I couldn't find anything amazing if not the dessert.

Food was quite simple. Perhaps it's how Peruvian food is. Grilled vegetables were not properly cooked, and tapioca and manioca were the same (I tried to cook at home the day after age I found the difference).

The service was mediocre, with the waiter having thrown a dish on the table and spelt some liquid on my jacket and mobile. The fact that they don't properly speak the language, makes communication difficult.

The environment could be adjusted better to give a typical sensation of Peru. Just a big picture of the Machu Pitccu...

Dopo averlo adocchiato su Google Maps sono andata a provarlo con un'amica. Wow! Le porzioni sono abbondanti tant'è che se volete condividere i piatti ci riuscite senza problemi. Il ceviche misto, consigliato dal cameriere, merita! Io ho assaggiato solo il calamaro, il polpo e il pesce bianco ma c'erano anche le cozze e i gamberi. Il tutto era marinato alla perfezione e quasi si scioglieva in bocca. Io ho provato gli antichucos (spiedini di cuore marinati) con la trippa grigliata. Che dire? Sono spariti come il pane e ho gradito assai la patata lessa con la buccia fritta, la salsa e il pezzo di pannocchia di mais bianco bollito di accompagnamento. Come piatti principali abbiamo preso il lomo saltado (mix di carne, cipolla, patate fritte e pomodoro saltato con riso bianco) e la jalea mixta (filetti di pesce, frutti di mare e manioca fritti accompagnati con cipolla e pomodori). Nei piatti non è avanzato niente! Da bere abbiamo preso un'acqua, una bottiglietta di Coca Cola e due cocktail buonissimi. Il maracuya sour è qualcosa di fantastico! Anche il Chirulin non è male e se siete amanti del pompelmo e della cannella fa al caso vostro. Abbiamo concluso il pasto con una fetta di torta selva nera (cioccolato, panna e ciliegie). The food here was really tasty and well-prepared. The pasta was fresh, the sauce rich, and the presentation clean. Everything looked delicious and tasted just as good as it looked.
