Ristorante La Matriciana Ai Consoli — Restaurant in Rome

Sadly I can not recommend this place to any tourist or non-italian speaking customer. The food is not bad, they have very good fishfood entrances and the steak is not bad (only salt missing). The problem is the rude attitude that you receive in exchange of a polite smile. Apparently this place is only for Italian Nationals, that don't care to be served by the "bosses" wearing jeans and t-shirt. When I asked to pay and demanded a "scontrino" (bill) I did not understand what one of the 2 bosses said in Italian but I can assure you it was not polite. He shouted some Italian words, not minding at all that I didn't understand him, and threw the bill onto the desk, so I could pick it up and check the ammount. This is not the way to welcome customers. I will not come back to this place and unfortunately this episode contributed negatively to my general opinion on Italy's...

Disappointing Restaurant...

Before you walk in there is a price list and once you actually get in they will bring the menu with most costly prices.

I have no problem paying for quality but this wasn't the case. I am not a chef but I can do better past Then the beef was so badly cooked Really cheap meat tastes incredibly bad

Locale storico a gestione famigliare che nel corso degli anni ha mantenuto le stesse qualità: buona cucina ed ambiente semplice ma accogliente. Sono tornata qui sabato a pranzo con mio marito che aveva prenotato con the fork. Vi eravamo stati qualche anno fa sempre a pranzo, con i nostri genitori e mia sorella. Confermo la bontà dei piatti, io ho gustato delle ottime fettuccine al sugo ed un goloso mix di formaggi, mio marito invece ha optato per due portate a base di pesce, a sua detta altrettanto buone. I dolci (fatti in casa) sono strepitosi, crema catalana per me e sbriciolata per lui. Lo staff è stato gentile ed accogliente, il locale pulito, tavoli e sedute comode. Ci siamo dispiaciuti per il comportamento scortese di una cliente di uno dei tavoli accanto al nostro. La signora in questione ha fatto gettare via un piatto di gnocchi, tra l'altro dopo averci messo sopra una montagna di parmigiano, dicendo che erano stracotti e a lei non piacevano. Ci siamo rimasti male per il cuoco ed il cameriere che le ha elencato tutti gli altri primi e non gliene andava bene uno, per scegliere poi finalmente i ravioli ripieni di ricotta. Certa gente onestamente se ne dovrebbe stare a casa, i veri gnocchi fatti con le patate tendono a diventare belli morbidi, se vuole quelli tosti e chimici che vada a prenderseli al supermercato! Prezzi onesti in linea con quantità e qualità delle pietanze. Pizza e fritti disponibili...
