Gli Ulivi is a rare gem tucked into the elegant Monti Parioli neighborhood of Rome, and dining here is nothing short of exceptional from start to finish. The staff immediately set the tone—warm, professional, and incredibly attentive without being intrusive. Their passion for what they do is palpable, and it elevates the entire experience.
As for the food, every single dish on the menu somehow manages to exceed expectations. It's as if the kitchen knows exactly how to balance tradition with surprise, bringing out bold flavors and delicate nuances in equal measure. Whether it's a classic Roman pasta, a seafood special, or a seasonal entrée, there's no “safe” choice—because everything is truly remarkable.
Even the bread deserves its own review. Served warm with a perfect crust and airy interior, it's the kind of detail that shows how seriously this restaurant takes every part of the dining experience.
Dessert, too, is phenomenal—crafted with care, rich but never heavy, and each bite feels like a celebration. The tiramisu is unforgettable, and the house-made gelato rivals any you'll find in the city.
The environment is just as memorable: warm lighting, thoughtfully arranged tables, and a relaxed elegance that makes you want to linger just a little longer. Gli Ulivi doesn’t just serve food—it offers an experience that’s intimate, inspiring, and undeniably Roman.

The calamari was very good. The carpacio, spaghetti with clams and the amber jack filet were all flavorless. It took us forever to put in an order and a full hour to get a second glass of wine. They brought us menus after the pasta as we waited an hour only to tell them that we had already ordered the fish. Not sure if the place is greatly under staffed or they just don't care. We've been in Rome for 3 days and have had great meals. This was not one of them. If I could give zero stars, this...
Read moreI just moved to this neck of the woods and I bumped into this lovely little gem of a restaurant. My friend and I shared a delicious artichoke flan as an appetiser, and we ordered the spaghetti with clams, topped with a sprinkling of cured fish roe shavings, called Bottarga. It sounds weird, but it’s really tasty and you can ask them to put it on the side for you to try. We ate outside and it was lovely. I love how they served our espressos in authentic, antique non-matching cups and saucer sets, they were cute as can be, served with a free complimentary home made cookies to go with our coffees. The lunch vibe was light and fresh and friendly....
