We were staying near by the “Gardnes of the Villa Borghese” so we decided to look around and search for the temple. We started from piazza del Popolo and passed by Terrazza del Pincio which has amazing view to the city, then up in the gardens. On our way we saw amazing statues and Fontana Rotonda, definitely check that out as well. Before you come to the temple you pass a big arch, Arco Romano, also a must see. The temple and the pond are such a view! Amazing calm atmosphere with classical music. In the pond you can find ducks, turtles and fish. You can also rent a small boat (8 euros, 20 minutes ) and sail around with someone, it looks really romantic. There weren’t many people, but it was a Monday morning, so I can’t guarantee there aren’t a bigger groups of people. Overall amazing definitely check it out, we didn’t pay anything so I guess it’s free. And if you go please don’t feed animals with bread it’s bad for them and for the pound, find some seed if you can.

Best place to view this from is from renting out a row boat on the lake, it costs €3 per person for everyone over 1m in height and the boats hold at least 6 people that we saw. That's for 20 mins which they don't seem that strict about as we were definitely a few mins over and they hadn't called us back to shore. It's not a massive lake but it is very pretty and the kids loved how close we were able to get to the terrapins swimming and sunbathing in and around the rocks. There was a guitarists playing classical music which carried over the lake and the weather was warm and sunny so even with the kids in the boat it was a nice relaxing...
