Gran Caffè — Restaurant in Rome

An American and my first evening in Rome and these folks were so kind.... That just made the experience even better The food that we had were all patisserie and as a chef I can tell you that that was some of the best tastiest pastry I've had in a very long time. The cream horns were outstanding crisp perfectly baked delightful amount of sugar lovely cream, the fruit tarts fantastic little mini delights with perfectly done crust and sweet ripe fruit that was just at its peak... I sampled one of every kind but my utmost favorite is something in my world we call the oyster it looks like an oyster it's this very crispy filo dough and then stuffed inside is this just delicious cream... I will definitely be back before I leave I will make it a point to put a box together to take with me to the airport. I only wish they would make it home oh and by the way please don't ever stop making your elephant ears!!!! Some people call them butterfly cookies the phyllo dough shape like some people say a butterfly we call an elephant ears and then they're coated in that sweet glaze with a light sprinkling of sanding sugar they are absolutely perfectly baked.

Siamo stati in questo bar più di qualche volta e purtroppo se cose non sono mai migliorate il personale é veramente maleducato e non rispetta affatto l'igiene e le norme dell'HACCP ( neanche il locale perché c'erano scatole in ogni dove e arance buttate in un angolo vicino la spazzatura... Da denuncia) abbiamo ordinato due spritz e ce li hanno serviti con due patatine e nocciole... Tutto nella norma se però li avessi pagato 4/5 euro l'uno e invece no... Ben 7 euro, ho chiesto al cameriere se ci portasse qualcos'altro insieme e mi é stato risposto che. Quello lo fanno nel turno serale per quanto mi riguarda allora il prezzo deve essere rivisto . La ragazza bionda che ci ha preparato i cocktail mentre preparava tutto era girata di spalle e ha servito le patatine toccandole cn le mani ( mani curatissime da una bellissima ricostruzione con colori fluo, anche questo non gradito secondo le norme di igiene ) Sicuramente non ci torneremo, l'unica nota positiva é stata la cassiera gentile ed educata per il resto vi do un consiglio .....

È chiaro che il problema principale non è stato il fatto che non abbiano potuto preparare un iced latte o un caffè americano freddo – comprendo benissimo che non sono bevande tipiche in Italia. Quello che mi ha lasciato un'amara sensazione è stata la mancanza di professionalità e l'arroganza dimostrata sia dalla cassiera che dal barista. Un servizio scortese può rovinare completamente l'esperienza, anche se l'ordine fosse stato perfetto.

A questo si è aggiunto un ambiente di lavoro teso e sgradevole, con discussioni ad alta voce tra i dipendenti. Anche se si trattava del 2 giugno, un giorno festivo, è inaccettabile che le tensioni interne vengano manifestate davanti ai clienti, creando un'atmosfera tutt'altro che accogliente.

La mia decisione di non tornare più è più che giustificata: la qualità del servizio e l'educazione del personale sono aspetti fondamentali per un'esperienza positiva, e purtroppo, in questo caso, sono venuti...
