This place was a great find. We intended to go to a place down the road but it was closed and thank god it was otherwise we’d of never found this place.
It looked like they were going to close but stayed open for us which we were grateful.
They didn’t speak great English but the lady who dealt with us tried her best.
We got the 15 euro set meal menu - normally this comes with wine but we don’t drink much so stayed on water
We had some local bread that was covered in olive oil. Hey gave us a chunk of cheese which I’m assuming Italians eat on their own normally but we used it with our bread. We got a plate of potatoes which was lovely on its own and some omelette style food which was amazing too and my partner he doesn’t really like egg based food but loved it.
We then had a huge plate of pasta - it was some kind of bean pasta which both of us aren’t bean fans but again amazing.
If it wasn’t for the fact our hotel didn’t let us bring food back to the room we would have been trying to take some of it home with us.
I’m not a huge eater as it is so the portions were too much for me, I’m also usually a fussy eater so the fact I didn’t get the pick my food made me nervous at first but honestly so glad they didn’t let me as I enjoyed it all.
If you have a chance to go I recommend - small and cosy with lovely friendly staff!
Great experience - anyone who didn’t 5 star...
Read moreI couldn't recommend this place enough- the best restaurant in Rome. It's a set menu for €10, there was also a $15 one however I couldn't imagine that since we were absolutely stuffed after just the appetizers!
You get a 3 course meal- 5 different appetizers, a delicious bean pasta (pasta e fagioli), a tart for dessert and even free cake! Don't let the set menu put you off if you're vegetarian, everything was veggie to my knowledge except one pork appetizer.
The atmosphere is cosy and homely, and the host was so lovely. It's quite small and we had the whole place to ourselves when we went so it was very intimate. You get a very generous amount of food and wine. It's nothing too fancy so there were plastic cups and paper plates at times- but don't be put off, this was the food highlight of our trip! If you want to be spoilt with wonderful homemade food you...
Read moreWe found this little gem close to our hotel. The staff do not speak English fluently but tried incredibly hard to communicate with us and explain how it works. Basically, you choose your wine, red or white, and then you have a 5 (yes, five!) course dinner of their choosing. It's authentic Italian food and you have no idea what is next, which makes it so much more fun and interesting than your usual restaurant experience. The place was so lovely, staff so friendly, food so very good and so so cheap! All in all it was a fantastic experience and we left full, happy and more than a little tipsy after the half litre of wine (each!) we were given. I would not...
