Tanagra Restaurant — Restaurant in Rome

I had the best Risotto of my life!! This would be a 4 star review but the Risotto was soo good It claims that extra star!!! This is a large Opera and Dinner Venue. From what I understand they have been operating as such in this location for over 20+ Years and it shows. The service and execution is perfect and they have it down as a well oiled machine. Great wine, food, music, laughter and friends. What a great place to go with a group of people and have a wonderful time.

To be totally out front, we ate at Tanagra as part of a tour of Rome. The restaurant is large and we sat at a long table with members of our tour. I noticed that as groups came in, we were all tour groups. Because of this, we all had the same food. A salad and bread, Lasagna and tiramisu. The lasagna was good and the tiramisu was great. Not what I would have ordered myself, but it was ok. I could probably give a better review if we had been by ourselves...

We came mainly for the show and entertainment. We were disappointed. It was literally few minutes of interrupted performance. Bad sound system, with poor quality screen display of recorded Vivaldi old concerts, overlapping live performances. The guests noise was too loud to enjoy. The food was just average, nothing special.
