Ugo — Restaurant in Rome

Have been to this place for a several times only by myself for breakfast. Not the friendliest place as no one greets you and the waitresses are always with bad moods but never had rude treatments before this lunch time. It looks like a trendy place but the service doesn't live up to its chic environment. Service is a big part of customer-based business if only the waitressing staff was actually trained. Today I went there with my 3 small kids and their grandma for lunch after the amusement park nearby. No one greeted and I tried to find someone to give us a table of 5. Not so friendly waitress (without smile or even greeted us) told us to sit next to the stairs where everyone needs to pass to go upstairs, she pushed the table to have a bit more room behind me for the people to pass. (Tables were way too close without room to move) We sat down went for 3 buffet menu (me, my mom and my 5 year old boy) and ordered a hamburger divided in 2 for my twin girls (3 year old). One of the buffet serving stuff was the only one who greeted us professionally and was friendly to give us some smiles while he served the buffet to us. While we were waiting for the hamburger, I gave my girls a fish ball (from the buffet) each to eat since they were hungry. At the end we asked for 2 plates of desserts only fruits and 3 pieces of chocolate having in mind we had 3 buffet menus. We asked for the bill for more than 20min, both of the waitresses kept saying it was coming until I couldn't wait anymore seeing the waitresses and 2 buffet serving staff were starting to chit-chat behind the bar. So I got up and asked if the bill was ready, the same waitress who told me the bill was coming, to go to the till to pay. I said we have been waiting at the table for 20 min for the bill, I told her straight "You could have told me before?" As we were getting ready, she came with the bill excusing that there were people before us who wanted the bill, I said it wasn't problem, I just needed to be told to go and pay over there instead of waiting at the table like an idiot? (Again no hospitality at all). Charged us for an extra buffet menu since the same rude waitress said that we cannot pay for 3 buffet menus and eats the whole family! In exact words: "Lei non può pagare 3 menu e mangia tutta la famiglia". By then I WAS VERY OFFENED BY HER COMMENT! Seriously??? I ordered a 12euro hamburger (adult menu) for my twin girls to eat and they are only 3. My mother went for a second plate for herself as everyone one else goes for second or third plates! She said she asked her serving stuff how many plates we took which were 4! 2 plates of vegetables for my mom, a normal plate with mixed buffet food for me and a half plate for my 5 year old! I wondered how much we ate for her to say we were consuming only the buffet for the whole family! NEVER AGAIN! HAVEN'T BEEN TO SUCH A RUDE SERVICE PLACE IN THIS...

Great Ownership, Staff Service and Atmosphere.

We came for having a dinner around at 11:30pm and the owner was very nice and he was great in flexibility for fish dishes and expert in wine advices.

The dining area, atmosphere is very nice and young people are smiling in this environment and it's really welcome.

The Staff is very nice, focuses and committed in the human relationship in a nice way... They could answer to all queries in a nice and welcome way.

The fiah food plates are good, but they could be improved in some part and this is a advice for an improvement and not a negative evaluation.

Un posto da evitare. Siamo stati vittime di cani che abbaiavano senza che nessuno ponesse loro un freno. Personale scortese e che tratta con sufficienza i clienti. Naturalmente sanno che riempiono il locale, quindi si permettono atteggiamenti al limite dell'urbanità. I cani sono ammessi nei locali pubblici sotto condizioni chiaramente specificate dalla legge. Camerieri e proprietari devono far rispettare la legge e devono rispettare chi vuole un po' di quiete. Mi auguro che questo locale sappia cambiare oppure spero che chiuda per lasciar posto a chi intende trattare con piu' rispetto i clienti. Malissimo. Zero stelle, se fosse possibile. Cibo appena sufficiente, ma veramente niente di che. Il tutto con un aggravante: il locale non è economico, anzi, piuttosto caro. Il classico, italianissimo, vorrei ma non posso....

Please do not go. We have been "victims" of dog owners letting their dogs do be annoying to the fullest extent. Staff was unfriendly and mostly careless. Clearly, the management knows the restaurant is kind of "in demand" and let themselves to cross the boundaries. On the other hand, they should know that dogs are allowed in public places under specific conditions dictated by the law. Waiters and owners must comply with the law. I hope this restaurant will be able to change in the short run, otherwise I would love see it closed asap for more kind and respectful actors to come into the market. ZERO stars, if it only could be possible. Food was barely acceptable but really nothing to write home about. It should be outlined how this restaurant is far from being chip.
