Ristorante La Conchiglia — Restaurant in Rosignano Marittimo

Where should I start with? There was Not enough staff for the size of the restaurant... The waiters were stressed all the time and just tried to keep up with the amount of work. We ordered a bottle of rosé and when I asked for an ice bucket I was told there were none left... despite everyone else was having one... That’s something the waiter should consider BEFORE serving a bottle of vine, especially when it’s 30 degrees!

Last but not least: the food. The bread was old and didn’t taste good, the salad was brownish and the only thing that tasted fresh were the red onions. The riso con funghi porcini... maybe it wasn’t called risotto because it was not very much like a proper risotto, the rice was not even done and far too hard, as well as the porcini “fresh from the freezer”. Furthermore, considering the restaurant being located 50 m from the sea, frozen scampi are not what you expect,...

From the start, the staff delivered indifference with flair - warm white wine (no ice bucket, no tasting), a wobbly table, and no hint of hospitality.

The antipasto arrived on chipped plates, looking as tired as it tasted. The pizza? A sad spectacle, topped with rubbery faux-cheese that resisted both cutlery and goodwill.

We paid far too much for the privilege. Service was frosty, ambiance apathetic.

Recommended only if you're curious about how bad a meal can get while still technically being called “dinner.”

We came to Castiglioncello for a day trip, and wanted to have some nice seafood before we headed back. Everything was honestly great. The waiter was very kind and even opened 15 minutes before their official opening time because he saw us waiting (we wanted an early dinner to be able to catch our train).
