We were excited to find the best pizza in Val Gardena, but our experience at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing. The service was terrible. We waited ages just to get the menus and didn't receive any bread or anything else while we waited.
Despite ordering pizza, the table next to us, who arrived 15 minutes after us, got their dinner and pizza before we did. When our pizzas finally arrived, after waiting for one hour and being more or less ready to leave, they had no crust, and we had to repeatedly ask for some chili oil and salt.
To top it all off, we were charged extra for removing ingredients from the pizza and also a cover charge. When we questioned this, as we didn't even get any bread while waiting, we were told it was because we used knives and forks, which supposedly added to the cost.
The final bill came to 56 euros for two pizzas and a glass of wine. It was absolutely ridiculous and ended up being super expensive for mediocre pizza. Definitely not worth it. Avoid this place if you're looking for good pizza and decent...

But since this hotel/ restaurant is only available anymore for hotel guests, they opened a new location at the Medel center (a little more in the direction of Wolkenstein.
Accessible by bus 350/352 (right in front of the pizzeria) Or on foot via the mountain walking path. (descending is possible again right in front of the pizzeria, just cross the street)
Large parking available at the Medel center location.
Great choice of pizza's freshly made within minutes by the skilled pizzaiolo in a real oven!
Very friendly staff!
Speaking also fluently English besides Italian and German (and probably Ladin too)
Prices are VERY good and rather low compared to the quality of food received.
Another location in Ortisei / St Ullrich is the Cascade Pizzeria also from the same owners. Comparable quality and prices / choice
Truly a...
Read moreWas excited to try this place as they list their allergies on the menu (I'm gluten free) and the menu said that they had gluten free pizzas. Unfortunately I got yelled at trying to order a gluten free pizza. I was told by the waiter "no" after I tried ordering and was confused so pointed to where it says gluten free pizza on the menu and got shouted at "I told you I said no." Since I was there for lunch I asked if they would have it for dinner thinking maybe they just ran out? Oh no... got yelled at again. So anyway, got the risotto and went to their other location closer to downtown and got the gluten free pizza there very easily without getting yelled at. The pizza was quite bad though. Maybe it's because we got take away. Not sure. But don't go to this location if you want gluten free pizza because apparently they don't actually have it and the waiter will be very mad for you trying...
