I honestly don’t know how to define this experience. The food is truly excellent, but unfortunately the service —or the lack of it— overshadows everything. We came here because of the wonderful reviews and the amazing dishes I had seen on Google. We didn’t have a reservation, and the reaction from the staff was nothing short of rude, as if showing up without one was an unforgivable sin.

On top of that, our Italian is not perfect, but instead of any effort to understand or help us, the attitude was dismissive and even condescending. This is a restaurant in a tourist destination — not everyone will speak Italian — and yet we were made to feel inferior because of it.

When I asked about a starter (even showing a photo from their own listings), the only waiter who spoke English told me they had removed it from the menu a year ago because “it takes too much time to explain to people who don’t speak Italian.” Honestly, that’s not an excuse. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I fully understand preparation times and service flow. But blaming customers for not knowing Italian? Please!

Arrogance is the last step before decline. You have an incredible kitchen and a great concept, but it risks being completely wasted if your staff keeps treating guests this way. Such a shame for the chefs and management, whose hard work is eclipsed by such unnecessary...

I think the place was a bit pricey for what it was offering in terms of food. We had breaded steak which was quite thin and not really breaded as much as it had dusting of flour on the side that you could taste but not in a good way. We had grilled squid which was just that. Without any spices or interesting flavour. You order sides separately and the grilled vegetables and baked potatoes didn't have any herbs or similar added and didn't really pair up well with the mains. We would have preferred if they were part of the main so the chef could be the one doing the pairing/composition of a meal. I think the starters were more fully composed meals - nice meaty couscous and aubergine with smoked swordfish. The wine was great at 22€ per bottle but the beer was €14... We had two starters, two mains with sides and a bottle of wine for €95. On the other hand the service was absolutely great. The plating was very pretty, the waiters were very helpful and knew English. They were happy to switch our table as I was cold under the air-conditioner. They also have an English menu online. They gave us some short stories about the food and after dinner recommended us a place to go with...

Food : not cooked well , they charged us even if I told them that the octopus is actually like a gum , and not tasty at all of course given them back but seems like here is culture to charge people even if food is not alright Anyway the atmosphere looked like busy and the people waiting for a table but I don’t know why because outside of the restaurant is a bad smell of uncooked food which is destroying your stomach if you smell , maybe people for curiosity accepted to be charged and try the food

Not worth anyway to spend any money there for a dinner there

Atmosphere : well here I saw that the bosses don’t care about people paying the bill not satisfaction of the food or service delivered Maybe because this is not a real good restaurant Not...

Allantica is an ok restaurant in San Vito lo Capo. It was a good start, they brought us small foccacia slice as starter which was delicious. We ordered the Tuna tartare with fruit of the season, pineapple at the occasion. They go very well together, but the Tuna could have been cut more carefully as lots of pieces were too large for a tartare. Tartare came with two sauces. Sauces were good, but only a small amount in the plate due to platting. I ordered one "envoltoni", and my wife pasta alla norma. Unfortunately both forgetful. We ordered wine and natural water is free. Total bill was €53 for two people. I belive this can improve and becomr a great restaurant, but at the moment there are better options in San Vito lo Capo I can s

Do you know the nervous feeling of being the only customers in the restaurant? Does everyone else know something you don't? It's kinda like asking out the cutest girl in the school, and she says yes... Never mind those trepidations here, the food is wonderful, and the service as smooth as a porceline dolls cheek. Pasta cooked and flavoured brilliantly, and an Italian fondue style dish that made me almost forget the punishment eating it was doing to my body. Busy or not, this was a great choice
