We went to Trattoria 3.0 I Siciliani in Cucina on a Wednesday evening, drawn in by the glowing Google reviews. Honestly, we have no idea how this place has received such high ratings. It’s a wildly overrated restaurant, and our experience was uncomfortable, frustrating, and deeply disappointing from the very start. The service was poor. One of the waiters —a small man with an absolutely unacceptable attitude— was rude from the moment we sat down. We speak both English and Spanish, but we usually order in Spanish when we travel, since it's quite similar to Italian and people generally understand or at least make an effort. This waiter, however, bluntly said he didn’t speak Spanish and wasn’t interested in trying to understand, with a tone of complete arrogance and disregard. (What made it even worse was that his disrespectful behaviour extended not only to us, but also to his own colleagues).

We didn’t leave simply because it was a family evening, but the mood was already ruined.

When the food arrived, it was bland, forgettable, and uninspired. Nothing about the dishes justified the ratings — or the prices. To top it all off, when we went to pay, we realised —after the payment was processed— that we had been charged for the wrong dish. When we raised this with the woman at the till, she didn’t make the slightest effort to help or resolve the issue. No apology, no interest in correcting the mistake.

This restaurant has a serious problem: that waiter single-handedly ruins the entire dining experience. We truly don’t understand how someone with such arrogance and lack of basic courtesy is allowed to serve customers.

Out of all the places we visited during our trip to Sicily, this was by far the worst dining experience. We would not recommend it under any circumstances.

Siamo andati al Trattoria 3.0 I Siciliani in Cucina un mercoledì sera, attratti dalle ottime recensioni su Google. Onestamente, non capiamo come abbia ottenuto valutazioni così alte. È un ristorante estremamente sopravvalutato, e la nostra esperienza è stata scomoda, frustrante e profondamente deludente fin dall'inizio. Il servizio è stato deludente. Uno dei camerieri —un uomo di bassa statura, con un atteggiamento assolutamente inaccettabile— è stato scortese fin dal primo momento. Parliamo sia inglese che spagnolo, ma durante i viaggi tendiamo a ordinare in spagnolo perché è molto simile all’italiano e normalmente le persone capiscono o almeno cercano di farlo. Questo cameriere, invece, ha detto in modo secco che non parlava spagnolo e non gli interessava capire, con un tono arrogante e sgradevole. (La cosa peggiore è che il suo comportamento non era solo maleducato verso di noi, ma anche verso i suoi stessi colleghi).

Non ce ne siamo andati solo perché era una cena in famiglia, ma l’atmosfera era ormai rovinata.

Quando sono arrivati i piatti, il cibo era insipido, senza personalità, totalmente dimenticabile. Nulla giustificava le recensioni entusiaste, e men che meno i prezzi. Per finire, al momento di pagare ci siamo accorti —solo dopo aver saldato il conto— che ci avevano addebitato un piatto sbagliato. Quando lo abbiamo fatto presente, la signora alla cassa non ha fatto nemmeno il minimo sforzo per aiutarci. Nessuna scusa, nessuna intenzione di risolvere il problema.

Questo ristorante ha un serio problema: quel cameriere rovina completamente l’esperienza di chiunque entri. Non capiamo come una persona con un tale atteggiamento possa lavorare a contatto con il pubblico.

The food was so bad. This was the first time in a very long time I couldn’t even swallow the first bite of my meal. The tuna meal I ordered was so disgusting. I eat seafood and even raw tuna all the time in Sydney and I know when fish is bad. My husband’s meat was also so terrible. Thin, dry, overcooked and no salt. The bruschetta bread was burnt and barely edible because it was so black and hard on the edges. We got a “green salad” which was literally just rocket leaves with no seasoning or dressing for 5 euro. Huge rip off. Just dry and wilted in the bowl. To top it all off, when we politely gave our feedback (which was only about the tuna dish mind you), they were quite hostile and rude about it. They reluctantly took off the cost for the tuna meal though. But the uncomfortable way they handled the whole situation is what promoted this negative review. Had they been more remorseful or apologetic, I probably wouldn’t have felt the need to write this. This place operates on a one time visit / tourist trap model. You put your name on a list and they call your name and tell you 6 more minutes but then cross your name of the list before they seat you. You think you’re all set until another waiter goes to the list and starts calling the next people on the list after you and seat them first. When you complain they treat you like the A you know what. If you can’t speak Italian forget about it!!! You will definitely get treated differently. You are almost the lost soul left behind if they know you can’t speak Italian, everyone else gets treated better. People here don’t care about anyone but themselves either, we had two people after us get seated before us even though they knew we were before them but because they are so selfish they jumped on it.
