We ended up at this restaurant because everything else nearby was fully booked — and unfortunately, the experience reflected that it wasn’t anyone’s first choice.

We had a couple of pizzas and pastas. They were fine — not bad, but not memorable either. The kind of dishes you eat and immediately forget. The salads, on the other hand, were disappointing: under-seasoned and clearly not fresh, which really brought down the overall quality of the meal.

Service was the biggest issue. It was incredibly hard to get the attention of any staff, and basic requests like drink refills were ignored. I asked more than once, received a nod each time, but nothing ever came. It felt like the staff either weren’t paying attention or weren’t motivated to follow through.

To be fair, the restaurant has a decent atmosphere and the menu seems like it could have promise, but the execution just isn’t there. If some attention were given to freshness, seasoning, and training the staff to be more responsive, it could be a much better experience. As it stands now, I wouldn’t return unless every other option was...

Food was ok but service was very bad except for 2 waiters. We ordered a pasta dish to share as a starter with a mixed plater of fish as a main. We got the pasta dish pretty fast. The waiter came to clear the plate and we then waited for about 45 minutes for our fish dish. Realising that people who sat after us were all getting their food we asked the waiter about our order. He came and told us the kitchen was still working on it (no apology for the delay). We got our food about 20 minutes later with undercooked shrimps (that's what tends to happen when you need to rush an order). We then sent back the shrimps to the kitchen with the waiter (different waiter/in charge of cleaning the tables)apologising for the cooking. When we were ready and ask for the bill (it's about 10.45 by then and the restaurant is almost empty). We had to ask several times (after waiting another 15 minutes for it) for the bill with the last time getting told they are working on it (I don't know what needs to be worked on to produce a bill). Overall food is ok but pricey and the service...

La Margherita was busy when we arrived, around 9pm, but we quickly got a table. After a 10-15 minute wait it took a few attempts to grab someone's attention to order anything and to be honest we thought about just walking out, we should have. We ended up placing a drink and food order together and drinks came out fairly soon, however, after 45 minutes we had to ask where the food was and were told something about an issue with the pizza oven.

It was busy but the waiting staff seemed particularly flustered, perhaps that's due to kitchen issues. The pizza was good but I have to say the seafood linguine wasn't great.

We've found it great being able to take uneaten pizza away from restaurants in Sardinia. We asked the same thing here and we were told there were 'no boxes' before our leftover pizza was swiped off the table and presumably thrown in the bin.

It again took us some long time to get the bill out and paid and finished off a pretty underwhelming experience at this restaurant. Reading other reviews it seems we aren't the only people to suffer...

Absolutely amazing experience at La Margherita! I went three nights in a row just to be sure—and each visit confirmed how consistently excellent this place is. The seafood pasta is incredibly fresh and flavorful, the calamari is perfectly crisp and tender, and the pizzas are delicious with a true wood-fired taste. The tagliere was beautifully presented and generous, and the lobster with linguini was absolutely exquisite—one of the best dishes I’ve had in Sardinia. The hospitality is outstanding. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and full of great recommendations—not just from the menu, but also for what to do in the area and where to go in the evening, which added a special touch to the overall experience. If you're in San Teodoro, this restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended.

Booked here for my son’s birthday, the service was very poor. We arrived and waited to be seated as a party of locals waltzed by and were seated before us. We finally got seated and ordered a mix of antipasto and primi piatti. We requested half portion of pasta for a child and oysters for the adults to start. We also ordered a side portion of veg to go with the mains. The veg arrived ten mins before the starter, without side plates. Then everything (including the oyster starter) arrived at once. The waiter ignored the request for a half portion of pasta and a side order of chips for the kids never turned up. I would avoid! We were in and out in less than an hour. All very odd.

We had an incredible experience at this beautiful restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious – the pasta was truly amazing, full of flavor, and the prices were very fair. But what really made the evening unforgettable was the outstanding service from Franccesco. He immediately understood our vibe, made us feel so welcomed, and treated us with genuine warmth and attention. His professionalism and friendly energy elevated the whole experience. Thank you, Franccesco, for making our night so special – we will definitely be coming back next time in San Teodoro!
