Located in the heart of Sassari, Il Cenacolo is a seafood lover's paradise. This exceptional restaurant offers an array of fresh, expertly prepared dishes that will delight your taste buds. The menu boasts an impressive selection of local wines, perfectly paired with each course.

The seven-course tasting menu as an appetizer was a highlight - a culinary journey that allowed me to sample the entire appetizer menu! Each dish was expertly crafted, with flavors that danced on my palate.

For my main course, I opted for the Tagliolini by the chef - tender pasta with succulent squid in a rich, creamy sauce. The fresh tuna tartare was sublime, and the local red shrimp was cooked to perfection. The oysters, always fresh and delicious, were a treat. The Languste with tomatoes and onion was a masterpiece, worth every euro of the 18€ price tag (100g). The grilled calamari was tender and flavorful.

While the restaurant may not be budget-friendly, the quality and service justify the cost. The staff, although not fluent in English, were warm and welcoming, making up for any language barriers.

Dinner at Il Cenacolo was overall a great experience in terms of quality. The appetizers were varied, well-balanced, and featured excellent seafood. The price for the starters was more than fair, and we truly enjoyed them.

However, the issue came with the grilled fish dish. The menu listed it at 20 euros, but it wasn’t clear that the price was per person, so the final cost came to 40 euros. The second issue was the portion size: quite small for the price. While the quality of the fish was good, it didn’t justify such a high cost, especially when compared to other seafood grills we've tried elsewhere.

This should have been clearly explained by the waiter, both in terms of portion and pricing. It unfortunately took away from an otherwise excellent meal.

That said, the staff was kind and knowledgeable, the location beautifully maintained, and aside from that misunderstanding, we ate very well. I still recommend visiting, especially for seafood lovers, but do ask for full details when ordering to...

We went there not knowing what to expect and we're absolutely blown away by these guys. They have put together different starters for us, I had grilled tuna and tuna tartar which I think was spontaneously done by them since I don't like other kinds of fish - it tasted perfect.
