Incredible food prepared and served in a family environment. There weren't professional waiters but good, kind salt of the earth people who are proud of what they create and provide. We have eaten many excellent meals throughout Italy but what they create at Pepe Nero is some of the best food we have eaten. Such a pleasure to have experienced this local eatery that the next time I am close to Milan I am going to visit them again. For a quick and economic lunch. On a business break we found this restaurant near Linate airport. The location is spacious, and also offers outdoor tables for nice days. Also suitable for the disabled ... being all on the ground floor. The mise en place is simple but functional. We chose two different menus: pasta and beans and risotto with cabbage and sausage as a first course. For the main dish we both opted for the roast beef with a mixed salad. I don't know why this place is not rated higher. What a hidden gem!! Food was truly authentic, run by the nicest and cutest nonna. She didn't speak English and she kept trying to tell us that the water was included in the service but we didn't understand, so she grabbed her phone and translated it to us. The food was also amazing!!

Prob some of the best food we had during our trip and by this time, we had gone to Florence, Tuscany, Cinque terre. We got the risotto with veal, carbonara and clam pasta. We weren't super hungry but we ate everything! House wine was also very good.
